"What happened to you, Morgana? As a child you were so compassionate, so kind," Arthur's voice was broken, raw and rough and scraping like the broken glass that had filled her mind and destroyed any chance of them having a family relationship. Morgana shook her head. He had no idea? She didn't know her brother could be so purely blind. No. She wouldn't use the word 'brother'. He was evil. He'd kill her. And she'd kill him. He was not her brother.
"You honestly have no idea? And people say I'm the one incapable of emotion."
"Morgana, I understand that your life has been hard but –"
"Hard?" She snarled. "Since that first dream I lived my life in an eternal fear, this burning, gaping raw fear, fear that consumed my entire life! And when I broke that window... Arthur I used magic for the first time, face it, you knew!"
"Morgana, I –"
"And you would have killed me. And when I was 'kidnapped' by druids? You hunted me down to bring me right back to hell, to the only place I felt an intruder and traitor in my own body and life, the one place I was truly terrified to wake up in the morning!"
"I didn't know..." Arthur's voice was dead, void of hope, and his eyes matched.
"You didn't notice every time I had a dream, the same dream happened in reality? You didn't notice how after that I became more and more withdrawn, you didn't notice the fear in my eyes? I thought you knew me, Arthur Pendragon but I was wrong! You're so like your father."
"Morgana, please –"
"And our darling father, who would've killed me without a second thought had he know what I really was. I didn't ask to be this way, Arthur, and nor did anybody else! You wonder why you Kings make so many enemies? Enemies come when you hunt them down like animals for nothing they've ever done!"
"I'm not my father."
"No but you're exactly the same." Morgana was quick back on him. "I haven't smiled in years because of you people! You destroyed everything that was ever important to me."
"Morgana..."
"I grew up."
