This is sort of the Bones version of my story, Loving Her Anyway. I was quote surfing and I found a list of quotes about love. This one was very Brennan and Booth.
Disclaimer: Look! A moose!
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………"Ultimately, he's going to find out how you chew, how you sip, how you dance, how you smell at every point in the day; the fact that most of your friends are shallow, that you hate sitting in the aisle seat, how you sometimes can't seem to listen, how you get hyper when you travel, how certain games or shows make you really happy, how you get cranky because you're too stupid to remember to sleep, how you don't like the way you look in pictures, how you can't get off the phone when you're late because you don't want to sound like you don't care, how you have no ability to save receipts; he's going to know all of it, everything about you, he's going to know and he's still going to love you."~ Unknown
He knows everything about her.
He knows that she has had a difficult past.
She contemplates this as she sits alone in her apartment.
She has the lights on.
She is scared of the dark.
Temperance Brennan, world's greatest forensic anthropologist, is afraid of the dark.
That's not all she's afraid of.
Seely Booth.
The All-American man with a not so all-American past.
Just like her.
Except while he blends in easily with society, she is on the outside.
He explains her to the world, and the world to her.
He is kind, patient, and intelligent.
She realized a long time ago that she had fallen for him.
In the head over heels type.
She can never get him out of her mind.
Wistfully, she looks over at the empty space next to her.
She wishes for him.
Across town, at his apartment, he wishes for her too.
She does not know this.
She does not know a lot of things.
He knows her.
He knows when something is bothering her.
He knows her every mood.
He has watched her over the years.
He likes what he sees.
Booth has had enough.
Enough waiting.
There has been too much of that.
Too much of wishing, wanting, and praying.
He puts on his jacket.
He sets off.
All he can think about is what he is going to say.
There is a knock at her door.
Booth.
All his careful planning flies out the window.
It comes out in a rush of words.
She has none for him.
He takes advantage of that.
He kisses her.
She smiles and kisses him back.
All along, these two have been fighting their feelings.
There is no fighting now.
Just a sort of blissful silence.
He knows everything about her.
He can now add one more thing to that list.
He knows how she looks when she is in love.
