Stefan never thought the day would come when he had to stay good-bye to Elena. Even though he knew that she had feelings for Damon he still thought what Elena felt for him was stronger and in the end she would pick him. But, he was wrong Elena picked Damon and now he has to say good-bye to the girl he loved more then anything.
Since Elena told him that she wanted to be with Damon he had been beside himself with emotions. He though his must be how Damon felt when Katherine chose him over Damon. He was happy that Damon had found someone but why did it need to be Elena. Why must it have to be the girl Stefan loved too?
After the shock of Elena telling him whom she chooses he remembered the deal Damon and him made. The deal that said that for who ever Elena didn't choose they will leave Mystic Falls and let the other live a happy life with Elena. Stefan didn't want to leave but he knew he had to he made this promise to Damon and he must keep it.
After Elena told him it was Damon he wanted to be with she then told Stefan that are still friends and that she loved him and cared for him but not in the way she did for Damon she said she was in love with him. Stefan knew he couldn't just be friends with Elena he had to much feelings for her and to see her with Damon it was just to much.
So he was preparing himself to leave Mystic Falls leave all the people he care for and leave the girl he loved. He couldn't help but think back to all the other times he left Mystic Falls and how out of all this time this one would be the hardest good bye for him. As he was packing he heard someone standing at the door.
"What are you doing brother" Damon was looking at him he remembered the deal and knew Stefan would follow through but he still had to ask.
"We had a deal Damon the one Elena didn't chose will leave and let the other have a happy life with Elena" Stefan was annoyed by his brother statement he knew Damon remember this deal why did he have to make him explain it.
" Well don't look so sad you can have the next girl that comes between us" Damon had a smirk on his face when he said this but after he said it he felt guilt and wish he could take those words back.
All Stefan could say was "yeah" and continued packing
As much as Damon didn't want to admit it he, despite his best effort, cared for Stefan. He after all he was his brother and even though Stefan though he was the reason Damon was a vampire, Damon knew the real reason he turn was, yes because he wanted to save Katherine, but the real reason was he didn't want to leave Stefan alone for an eternity he was his little brother and after Stefan killed their father he knew that Stefan wouldn't be able to handle being a vampire on his own.
But, as soon as Damon turn his thoughts changed and he was mad and blame Stefan something he never wanted to do. Being a vampire changed his thoughts and made the little part of him that did blame Stefan explode into full blame for a long time. But, now after Damon came back to Mystic Falls and him and his brother were reunited he remembered the real reason he turned into a vampire to be their for Stefan.
