Title: So High.
Author: Stoplight.

Words: 578
Time: A couple of days - school is a pain, man.

Violet optics stared up at Abby - startled and wide – through strings of obsidian hair. Abby stared back, a slender eyebrow lifting towards the rim of her hat. "Girl, what are ya doin' in here?" she asked.

Kuki blinked a few times, sooty lashes fluttering, before she presented Numbuh Five with goofy grin. "I was trying to get some cereal from the tippy-top shelf!" the petite Asian answered. The smile quickly turned into a pout as she took in her position and the cabinets she had been referring to, "I think I fell."

Abby let her eyes drift to the remains of the kitchen table. It looked like its legs had collapsed from underneath it suddenly as Numbuh Three fell against it. Numbuh Two, eager to work on some new 2x4 schematics, had repaired it hastily from the last time Cree – invading – had thrown it as a weapon. Shoddy workmanship for it to crack underneath Kuki's minuscule weight. "We're gonna have tah get Two tah fix that 'gain," she remarked, gesturing with a slender hand as she pulled it from the pocket of her baggy top.

"Sorry, Abby."

The darker-skinned girl shrugged as she drifted past her fellow female operative, "Don't worry 'bout it, girl."

Kuki grinned again, showing off the gap from the loss of a baby tooth. The sunshine faded for a moment as the Japanese operative noticed the shards of a bowl scattered across the floorboards; the one she was going to her Rainbow Munchies in. "Phooey - my bowl broke!"

"Ya jus' noticed?" Abby asked, bemused, from the other side of the room. "Three, where do ya keep some bandages in 'ere?"

Kuki pulled herself to her feet and out of her rubble, brows furrowing thoughtfully. "Um, I think I have a box in the fridge - why do you need bandages?" she chirped in reply, words spilling quickly from her lips.

"First off - in the fridge?"

"It helps with the ouchies!" Kuki explained.

Abby shook her head, brushing her thick rope of hair off her shoulder with sigh. "Numbuh Five really don't get you, girl," she remarked, opening the wooden door to the fridge.

"Well, that's okay, silly!" Numbuh Three giggled as she skipped closer to her friend who was still pushing things aside in the confines of the Sector refrigerator. She brought a hand up to her face, letting the sleeve pool around her bony elbow. After she finished tucking a few strands of black hair behind her ears, she dragged her fingers across her cheek before bringing the digits into her line of view. "Numbuh F-five. . . " the Asian stuttered, eyes growing wide and wet.

Abby glanced at her, a tentative frown forming on her lips. "Girl, don't -"

"I'm bleeding!" Kuki finished in a wail.

Flinching at the sudden shriek and following waterfall of salty tears, Abby curled her hand around a colorful box of bandages. She straightened and brought the smiling monkeys dotting the outside to the sniffling girl's attention. "And that's what these are for."

A/N: I love writing Kuki interacting with everyone who isn't Wally just because you never get a real feel of who she is closest too aside of him. We all know that Abby is like Wally's sister, Nigel and Abby are super-duper close and Hoagie and Wally consider themselves besties, but what about Kuki? I'd put my money on one of her Rainbow Monkeys ("My First Rainbow Monkey," anyone?) but I like to experiment.

I hope you enjoy and that they aren't too out-of-character?

--Kati.
