I shouldn't have given in to her. I should never have given in to her pleading puppy dog eyes to accompany Youko and I on a hiest for a peice of the Shikon no Tama. I never should have and then she would have been at the hideout instead of watching me fall. I wouldn't have to see the horror and shock in her eyes.
The people are coming closer and I yell for Youko to leave me and take Kagome with him. She ran to me and was crying, pleading with me to let her stay. Youko, my best friend, he was refusing to leave me as well. Both of them, the only people I know that loved me unconditionally, were refusing to fulfill my dying wish.
I told them to leave, to go, to live. Still neither moved. I could hear the mob getting closer and by the twitch of Youkos' ears, I could tell that he too heard them. I could feel my strength waning and taste the metallic tang of blood bubbling up into my mouth. I would be gone soon.
Kagome was crying on my chest, my blood seeping across her white shirt. She was begging me not to leave her. Not to leave Youko. Not to leave them. They needed me.
I smiled the best I could and stroked her tear stained cheek. I summoned what little strength I had left and placed my families amulet around her neck and placed in her hand the shard that I had stolen so she could defeat Naraku. Tears welled from her eyes and a short scream tore from her throat as she looked at the accursed jewel shard. She threw the shard at Youko and told me that she didn't care about the shard. She wanted, no needed me to live.
They were too close for comfort now. I could hear their voices too clearly. Youko and Kagome needed to leave. Needed to get to safety. I looked at Youko and yelled at him to flee with Kagome. To take care of her. To GO! Damn it! Just go! This time he moved. He grabbed her around the waist and hefted her away from me. She kicked and clawed, screamed and cried. She didn't want to leave me but Youko wasn't letting her go.
He turned and ran with her. Kagome was still screaming and fighting him. I could barely make out her face as they faded. She was staring straight at me, reaching for me. I could hear her voice so clearly. The last thing I heard was her voice. She told me that she would find me. That she would find me wherever I was.
I felt myself die then with her words ringing throughout my soul. She would find me wherever I was.
