Oliver's Year Off
Disclaimer: Cause we all know Oliver deserves a crap ton of time off.
"So, now that you're finally out of prison, what's your next move, Oliver?" Wondered Kara 'Supergirl' Danvers of Earth-38 as she stood near Oliver 'Green Arrow' Queen.
Who had finally been released from Slabside Prison after a two year stay thanks in part to ARGUS, the Governor of Washington, and the President's involvement. And now, he was at a welcome home party hosted by the Diggle-Michael family at their home, surrounded by his closest friends and remaining family members. Even thankfully having gotten his parental rights restored after Felicity had inadverdently cost him those with her decision to send William off to a boarding school without first discussing it with him. Though it took a little getting used to the fact his boy now had a small but purple and green Mohawk, and ear and nose piercings. But he wasn't about to rock the boat where that was concerned, especially not so soon after getting out of prison and bringing William back home where he belonged. "Yeah, what are your plans now that you're out?" Wondered Thea as she came up to her big brother.
And she wasn't the only one who was curious about the archer's answer and William was a little nervous that his old man would admit he wants to get back into the action as the Green Arrow. Oliver chuckled a little and smiled down at his soda before looking at the gathered group. A group that even included Barry and Iris' daughter, Nora, from the future. Whose strong desire to be around her dad had changed the future she came from and left her stranded in the past. But she didn't mind as this meant she could be around her parents, her dad especially, with the knowledge that she had changed the future for the better. "I'm not planning on getting back into the field if that's what any of you are thinking. Maybe at some point in the future but not right now." He declared to the group and William couldn't help but feel a small sense of relief at that.
"For right now? I intend to just take some time to get back on my feet, maybe take a vacation. But most importantly? Spend time with all of you when able, especially with my son and Thea as there has been far too little of that with them." Further added the man as he looked in the directions of his son and his sister.
Both of whom smiled happily at them. "And if anybody deserves a vacation with plenty of relaxation, its you, Ollie." Thea told him and various whole hearted agreements were heard by the others present.
A mischevious smile appeared on Kara's face a few minutes after that and it made Oliver suspicious once he noticed it. "I think its time for a group hug!"
"No! No it is not." Replied Oliver in an attempt to be firm but nobody was buying it.
William added his agreement in support of the group hug and before the former inmate knew it, he was in a massive group hug by everyone present. Making him feel somewhat emotional and even more so happy as can be that he was finally home. Whatever came next for him was something he looked forward to.
Author's Notes: Depending on how much feedback this receives, especially for those who want to see what all Oliver gets up too in his year of relaxation, I'll continue this. Naturally, this will probably be incredibly AU by the end of the current seasons but that's fine with me. Makes it more fun that way.
