Pinefrost's paws felt gross. Her whole body felt gross, no, disgusting, from the tips of her ears to the tip of her tail. As her small paws scraped dirt into the almost-empty hole, she sighed and stopped for a second to ponder.

If there was any way out of this, it had to be through Iris. It was her only hope. It wasn't like she could just go up to Sorrow and say "Hey, is there any way you could just let me, my friends, my family, and everyone else just go?" Well, she could, it was definitely possible. If she wanted to die tonight.

With that thought alone, she snorted. As if! No, she had a duty. A duty to protect her mother, her poor mother, her brother too, and her friends, and-

"HURRY UP!" The voice made Pinefrost jump as well as wake from her thoughts. Sorrow was standing on a ledge jutting out from the Great Cliff just above her. Pinefrost's first thought was how he had gotten there. The closest ledge to him was far away. Wasn't he hurt by jumping that distance? Shaking her head and pushing away the thought, Pinefrost hissed, digging her claws into the dirt.

All her anger at this cat, all her pent up frustrations, all her hatred of his existence was in the way her claws ripped up the earth, and the way that she said what probably would have been her last word had Sorrow not needed her. "No."

Sorrow's eyes very visibly narrowed, and he took a step forward before bounding off the ledge straight to the ground. It must have hurt, but he seemed unfazed. As he approached the young she-cat, he smirked as he saw the way she looked at him. Like he was a monster, and to be feared. "What did you just say to me?"

His voice was low. Dangerously low. Kill low.

Pinefrost gulped and repressed a shudder, instantly regretting it. Please don't kill me, please don't kill me, please don't kill me... "Nothing, Master Sorrow." She absolutely hated calling him Master. She was nobody's slave, but of course, she had to pretend to be, for the sake of herself, her family, her Clan, and all the other Clans, too.

Just to further prove her point (as it was apparent Sorrow wasn't going to leave until she did anyway), she scraped some more dirt into the hole. However Sorrow did not leave. He stared at her expectantly, and she sighed, kicking more and more dirt in until finally, he had enough. Sorrow turned and left, and Pinefrost's heart felt smaller than it ever had before. She looked down into the grave, and felt tears well up in her eyes as she saw that the tiny kit inside was now fully covered by the earth.

A/N; Hey! I hope you enjoyed the prologue of Enslaved. This is my first fanfiction, but definitely not my first writing piece. I have written poems about the Warriors characters though, however. Let me know if you'd like me to post them! Constructive criticism is always appreciated. Thank you for reading, and the first chapter should be posted soon. Bye! ^^
