It has been so long since I have written, it almost felt like it was a thing of the past, that I would never be able to let words flow from my imagination. Though, the new Netflix series 'Anne with an E', also known as, 'Anne', has been a source of inspiration in the last week. While at work, I began to daydream and have developed what I think will be my best stories yet. Don't fret, it still exists in the same universe as RTA.
I am thrilled to announce:
"Aurora: A Road to Avonlea Story"
It does take place a decade or so after the ending of the television series Road to Avonlea. The final episode saw Felicity King marry the man of her dreams, Gus Pike. Believe me, you will see the King family pop in from time to time, but there is a new story to be told. A relatively relevant one.
This story is focused on a 16-year-old girl name Aurora Ashton. For my announcement, I would like to describe in minor detail a few of the characters that will appear prominently.
Aurora 'Rory' Ashton
A young, wealthy, 16-year -old girl with aspirations of becoming a lawyer. She has a very cold relationship with her mother due to her rejection of the housewife role.
Carlisle 'Lyle' Camden
A poverty stricken 16-year -old boy with an extraordinary mind. He dreams of attending McGill University Medical School.
Marine Ashton
A very cold and stern woman, who can at times be cruel to her daughter, Rory.
Bennett Ashton
Rory's 17- year- old brother who will attend Dalhousie University to study Macroeconomics. He dreams of becoming a stock broker on Wall Street in New York. Lane struggles with his sexuality throughout the story.
Corinne Camden
Lyle's mother. Her husband died several years ago, and she has had to support her family alone. She washes and mends clothes for people in Avonlea, to support her family, and while she barely gets by financially. She has a heart of pure gold, and would do anything to help her children.
I cannot wait for you all to read this story. I truly believe that this is the one that I have always wanted to write but could never search my mind to put it into words. I will try to release a chapter a week. My schedule is hectic, but nonetheless, I won't give up on this one.
If the reception is as good as I hope it will be, it is possible that I will print paper copies.
If you have any suggestions, or wishes, please don't hesitate to private message me.
The first chapter will arrive within the coming weeks.
Stay tuned.
