A young boy genius was standing in his room, putting some finishing touches on his latest creation. He looked it over through his window as he looked at the finished product- a house-sized robot. It was so large he'd only been able to build the body parts separately and attach them outside. Now that it was finished, however, it was a masterpiece.

The boy pressed a button on a remote he held in his hands, which triggered his robot to reach out his arm. The boy climbed onto the hand.

"Onward to the city! We're going to show you off a bit." The boy demanded. The robot did as he was told and headed for the city.

Upon arrival, the boy brought his robot bumbling through the streets, causing more havoc than the boy genius realized.

"To the park!" He exclaimed. In all honesty, he was tired of the kids at school avoiding him and only wanted a friend. When he stumbled upon the robot making kit sitting in his bedroom closet, it had given him the idea to just build a playmate. So there they were, headed to the park to play.

Becky Bottsford was playing in her yard with her pet monkey, Bob on a normal Saturday afternoon when suddenly a man appeared at her fence.

"Heeelp! A giant robot is destroying downtown!" The man exclaimed, seeming very panicked. Becky stopped what she was doing.

"Why are you telling me?" She asked nervously.

"Isn't this the police station?" He asked, confused.

"No...down the street." Becky explained.

"Oh. Thanks," he said casually, proceeding to find the police station. Becky quickly zoomed off to the city to see what all the excitement was about.

Once she saw the giant robot, however, she stopped in her tracks.

"Whoa. That's one big robot." She said.

The robot quickly set Tobey down on a nearby rooftop as to protect him from Wordgirl's attacks.

"Hey! What are you doing, pick me up this..." Tobey shouted angrily, only to be interrupted by catching sight of perhaps the most beautiful girl he'd ever laid eyes on. He looked her over head to toe, admiring her ebony locks, her large, enthusiastic eyes and wide, excited smile. She fought his robot with such energy, such spirit and spark...he couldn't help but ignore the fact that his new friend had been reduced to rubble. She was all he saw now.

"Who's robot is this?" She pondered to her sidekick. The monkey, resting on her shoulder, pointed to a nearby rooftop. "Good eye, Huggy!" She exclaimed, flying towards the rooftop he the boy was standing on. He quickly rushed into the building and out to the street below, proceeding to rush home.

Once he was safely inside his room, he rushed to a computer and looked the mysterious masked maiden up on the internet.

"Wordgirl...she's the most amazing girl I've ever seen." He said happily with a sigh of delight. He wasn't about to forget her, no. But how would he capture the attention of a superhero?

"...why, with a crime of course..." He chuckled evilly, quickly getting to work on more robots.

So obviously this is where the short begins…you know, the first time they meet face-to-face at a playdate? Well, if you haven't, it's almost the same as 'By Jove You've Wrecked My Robot'…soo, yeah. Review?
