Disclaimer: I do not own Codename: Kids Next Door and I never will.
Just a oneshot that was inspired by a scene in an anime. I paused it just to write this.
The Kitten
Umbrella in hand, she strolled down the street. She had plenty of time to get to school and was enjoying the most of the rain while she could. She loved the rain, unlike many other teenagers. She found the sound comforting.
She stopped near the entrance to the local park. There was a small, cardboard box that was completely drenched, thanks to the rain. She peered inside and saw a grey kitten staring up at her. She lifted the stray out of the box and hugged it close to her chest.
The poor thing couldn't stay out in the rain, so she decided to take it to school. The teachers would surely let her keep it for a day.
He entered the classroom with his head down. The little kitten he played with every morning had disappeared. He hoped the rain didn't scare it away. He had a soft spot for animals, not that he'd ever tell anyone.
He heard some girls in his class squeal, so he looked up. Everyone was crowding around a desk in the middle of the room. He walked over to them and craned his neck to see what they were looking at.
The kitten.
He smiled and breathed a sigh of relief, then quickly scanned the room to see if anyone had noticed. He hadn't been discovered. He sat at his usual desk (the one closest to the door) and sighed. He would probably have to wait until after school to talk to the girl. The kitten was a chick magnet.
"Hi."
"Hmm? Oh, hi."
"You found that kitten near the park, right?"
"Yeah, how did you know? Are you the owner?"
"No, I just visit him every morning before school. He wasn't there, so I was worried."
"Oh, I see. Sorry."
"No need to apologise. You saved him from the rain. He could have died, so thank you."
"You're very welcome."
Animals always did bring people closer together.
There you go. Review! Pretty please vote on my poll about my next stories. I would really appreciate it. ^^
