Shock

Disbelief

Betrayal

Hurt

Disappointment

Sick

Despair
.

These were the only emotions Makoto could feel as he looked at the slot machine.

.

GUILTY

.

He couldn't believe it. It couldn't be true.

It was too much to swallow. Too much to take down. Too much to soak in. In the three slots of the Slot Machine was HIS face. The face of Makoto Naegi.

The one who was played the fool.
But that didn't bother him, neither did the laughter of the 'True' Ultimate Despair herself. Junko Enoshima has a tall, hourglass figure, light blue eyes, and long, thick, strawberry blonde hair tied in two pigtails. She wore a pair of bear hair clips.

The right clip is completely white with dot eyes and a neutral expression, while the left is black with a white muzzle, jagged red eyes, and a wicked smile. Junko's usual outfit included a black cardigan over a white dress shirt, with both left open to the third button to expose the top of her black-and-red bra. A long tie loosely dangles around her neck, its design was equal parts black and white, with a red line in a circle resembling a prohibition sign in the middle of the tie, where the colors meet. Junko also wore a red miniskirt and mid-sized black boots with platform heels and red laces. She also has long, red nails.

Junko looked at Makoto with a smug grin that was fitting of the True Ultimate Despair. He was just… too engrossed with the question that swam around in mind. How is she still alive?

"Oh, please don't tell me you didn't notice," she practically read his mind. "I'm disappointed, Makoto. I thought you were smarter than that." Junko snapped her fingers and room slowly lit up. As Makoto looked around him his horror as he saw all of his friends from Hope's Peak, all with red eyes of pure despair.

Future Foundation. The Student Council. Class 78-B (DRV3). Class 77-B.

His classmates of Class 78-A.

"Well, isn't this a lovely High School reunion, huh guys?" Almost everyone laughed that chilling Monokuma laughter. His vision first land on his friends from Class 78-B who spoke first.

"Hey hey, Makoto!" Angie chirped. "Everyone is here thanks to Atua! Now, the only one who is left is you… come on!Don't make us wait."

Angie Yonaga, the Ultimate Artist, has dark skin covered in black, tribal tattoos and round, blue eyes the color of the ocean. Her hair a pale platinum blonde that looks nearly white. There are three dots surrounding her belly button, and it is very likely that they are small, silver bead piercings. She wore a white, frilly bikini top, the frills a very pale blue, assumably matching bikini bottoms under the blue skirt with white frills sewn to the bottom of it and a blue bow at the waistband. On top of her skirt, she wore a red utility belt which held her carving tools and paintbrushes.

Angie wore a yellow smock which reaches below her knees, sleeves loose and wide as they stop before her wrists. Her smock had black symbols on her shoulders, the insignia of her previous high school before Hope's Peak. Her shoes were simple black slip-ons with red soles. Angie wore a bracelet made of shark teeth on her left wrist, as well as another one on her right ankle. She also wore a necklace of shark teeth with a Monokuma head in the center in the middle of it.

"I'm so sorry, Makoto," said Class 78-B Homeroom Teacher, Miss Ochitsuite. "I failed them… but I… I don't want to lose you too." Katana Ochitsuite was a woman with brown hair and violet eyes somewhere around her twenties. She wore a red jacket with a white shirt under it. She also had brown shorts and white sneakers.

Miss Ochitsuite looked positively broken and desperate. She looked a Makoto who, unknown to everyone, was attempting to hold back a part of himself that was violently clawing to break loose.

"Makoto," the Ultimate Magician called to him. "I have reached a new level of mana. So, let's perform together…! You ARE my familiar, remember?" Himiko Yumeno, the Ultimate Magician, cackled like a witch.

Himiko has pale skin, reddish-brown eyes, and chin-length red hair. Her most notable trait is her black 'witch hat', with a red strip around the middle of it, a small pin on the cloth. She also has a quite short stature and round face, giving her quite a young appearance. The right corners of her upper lips are slightly curled up, and her eyes are lazily lidded, reflecting how easily tired she gets. She wore a black dress that was styled with alternating rows of different colored, red stripes.

The sleeves of the dress add a unique touch as they are very wide and have ruffles adorning the ends. She also wore red and black striped tights and a pair of black, medieval boots with red ribbons tied around her ankles with skulls in the center.

"Yo, Makoto! Guess what?" Kaito asked. "I've been chosen for a very important mission for everyone's sake! I need my buddy by my side!"

The Ultimate Astronaut, Kaito Momota, has gel-spiked purple hair that's grown out both at the top and bottom of his head, that Kodaka describes as a space jet coming out of a black hole and a short goatee. His eyes are a warm lilac. He also has a slightly tanned complexion. He wore a long, purple blazer with a galaxy design on the inside of it. However, his coat is worn improperly at all times, instead, Kaito wore his left sleeve and leaves the right side of the coat to drape over his shoulder to leave it fluttering to show the space design.

This left his bare chest visible for all to see. He wore purple pants matching the color of his blazer that are rolled up over his ankles.

"Oi, kid," that one came from Ryōma of all people. "Things look bad, I know. And I'll understand if you want to run away… except that I can't. Not this time. No hard feelings."

Ryōma Hoshi, the Ultimate Tennis Player. Contrary to his soft appearance, he has a very deep voice. He has black eyes with no visible pupils and pale rosy cheeks. He wore a black hat with two points that has a picture of two blue tennis rackets on it. He wore a black leather jacket, and a black and dark blue striped jumpsuit underneath, similar to that of a prisoner.

He wore brown shoes and has a metal cuff attached to his legs and wrists with a bit of a chain attached to the cuffs. His legs are notably much more muscular than the rest of his body. He always has an actual cigarette in his mouth opposed to his usual candy.

"He's right, Makoto," the Lucky Student looked at Maki. "You can't leave us like this. I won't let you… Please, don't force my hand." The Ultimate Assassin, Maki Harukawa, is a young woman of common height with a rather slim physique, although she does possess some muscle.

She has red eyes and long, dark brown hair that she to keep in a ponytail similar to Aoi's. She has bangs, as well as two small strands of hair that fall at the sides of her head, the one falling at her right side being a bit longer. Maki also has a beauty mark under her left eye. She wore a dark red kimono, with a turtleneck underneath. The kimono was tied around her waist, where its length reached just above her knees.

Maki also wore black knee-high boots and tights.

"Master. I advise you to follow their advice," said the Ultimate Maid. "Otherwise… I'm afraid I won't be able to protect you." Kirumi Tōjō is a tall, thin young woman with pale, desaturated green hair and bangs that obscure her left eye (Though sometimes it can be seen when expressing certain emotions). Her eyes are green and her maid outfit consisted of a black button up pinafore with a spiderweb motif, a white dress with a black collar, and a purple tie. She wore a black headband that is commonly worn by a maid.

She wore black gloves with silver rings attached, black tights, and also wears black shoes with white laces and heels. Her dress also had black lace attached to the bottom of her skirt.

"Makoto - I can't believe I'm going to ask something like this - but I need a model for males to behave well." Tenko said, staring into Makoto's soul. "And you are the most appropriate to help me… or are you going to abandon me? You wouldn't dare to do that, would you?" Tenko Chabashira, the Ultimate Aikidō Master, has a fair skin tone, warm green eyes and long dark-brown hair put into two long, loose braids.

Her hair is tied by long white ribbons, a large green pinwheel bow with a white floral pattern and she also wears a purple, Alice headband with a star-shaped adornment on the left side of her head. She wore a dark, navy blue hakama which exposed a considerable amount of cleavage and was tied around her waist.

"Kehehe… such beauty, isn't it, Makoto?" Korekiyo said. "Everyone is here to witness this… Well, there is one piece left in order for this beauty to be complete. I think you know what I mean."

Korekiyo Shingūji, the Ultimate Cultural Anthropologist, is a tall, slim student with rather pale skin and long black hair. He has narrowed yellow eyes, and his mouth was covered by a black mask, covering his mouth and neck, with a zipper where his mouth would be, giving him an unsettling and mysterious appearance. He wore the mask wherever he goes, no matter where he goes, and he even owns different masks for eating, showering, and other daily activities. He wore a dark green military-style uniform with knee-high black boots, a zipper lining the front and two straps over it. The uniform consists of a white button-up underneath it, a dark green button-up, a red armband around his left arm from his previous school, Sunset Hills High School, a green military regulation cap with his former school's insignia on the top, and a decorative chain dangling from it.

He once told me that his sister tailored his uniform for him while she was sick. He wore what appeared to be some kind of silver locket around his neck. Both of his hands were completely covered in bandages, although it's likely he's not even injured.

"Hey, Makoto… what do you think about this?" Tsumugi exclaimed. "A battle between Hope and Despair! It's just like in my fantasies…! Well, there is one thing I would like to change. Let despair win, please!

"We can be together like this." Tsumugi Shirogane, the Ultimate Cosplayer, is a tall young woman with long, knee length, cerulean hair tied in two pigtails with the same Monokuma clips like Junko. Her eyes are round glowed an eerie blue and dark, pale-blue bags sat under her eyes. She wore rimless glasses with white temples. Her attire matched Junko's perfectly, consisting of a black cardigan over a white dress shirt, with both left open to the third button to expose the top of her black-and-red bra.

A long tie loosely dangles around her neck, its design was equal parts black and white, with a red line in a circle resembling a prohibition sign in the middle of the tie, where the colors meet. She also wore the same a red miniskirt and mid-sized black boots with platform heels and red laces. She also has long, red nails, just like Junko.

"Hey, Makoto," said the Ultimate Junior Detective. "Everyone's fighting right now… and we need your help. You are our friend, aren't you?" Most of the time, Shūichi Saihara wore a black cap with three white stripes lining the back of it, and a silver star pinned near the front. Underneath the cap, he has short black hair with a small ahoge.

He has very pale skin and a slim figure. His eyes are gambogeish grey, with thick, feminine eyelashes that are completely natural. Shuichi's high school uniform was double-breasted and pinstripe, thin, grey stripes over a black uniform. His pants matched his uniforms design, black with a pinstripe design to accentuate his long legs. His former school's emblem was on the breast pocket of his uniform, the pocket accentuated with a dull golden color to stand out from his generally dark, monotone uniform.

His shoes were dark blue loafers that are both fashionable and easy to walk in, making it easy for him to investigate comfortably.

"Makoto! Gonta is on the road of being a true gentleman now! And it's all thanks to you! Though… Gonta may need your help again." Gonta Gokuhara was the Ultimate Entomologist.

Gonta is a very tall and muscular teenager with tanned skin. He has a noticeably angular face and very long, messy brown hair, with noticeable prominent curls at the top of his head that resemble ahoges. He has red eyes and wore round glasses. Gonta wore a white lab coat with rather loose sleeves that was part way zipped down. The coat also has pockets roughly where Gonta's hips are.

Underneath his coat, he wore a grey vest over a white collar shirt, along with a dark, lime-green ascot around his neck. He carried a bug box strapped over his shoulder and resting at his hip, the strap was a light green, nearly matching his ascot's color. Gonta has incredible, superhuman strength and his stoic face is especially fierce, brows knitted and frown apparent, supposedly due to his upbringing in the wild.

"M-Makoto…" Keebo called out. "I-I know I shouldn't say this, b-but given the circumstances… I-I think you should listen. I-I'm sorry, I don't want to see you get hurt." K1-B0, or Keebo, is a robot, having a fully mechanical body. Most of his body is made up of black metal resembling armored plating, and he does not wear clothes.

He has two glowing spots on his chest, another two on his stomach, and two on his both wrists. He has platinum blonde hair. His waist, which resembles a belt, has a glowing red spot on the each side of his front. He also has quite a short stature. Being a robot, he is sexless and lacks any reproductive functions, though in general his appearance and voice are considered masculine.

While obviously synthetic, his voice and head resemble those of a normal human. While he usually sounds very similar to an ordinary human, his voice can turn notably more artificial when he lets out loud and long sounds like screams or attempts to sing. His skin is also very pale and his straight, platinum blond hair appears unusually sharp for a human, including a very large ahoge sticking from the top. His blue eyes are also notably mechanical and there are thick black lines around and below them. It seems he can make his eyes glow and emit some sort of beam of light from his right palm.

Keebo has a large metallic collar around his neck, with his school badge on the left front. A black screen goes all around the collar, displaying constantly moving and glowing green text. A softer, black material covers the area behind the collar and directly around K1-B0's neck. Keebo is capable of pulling it upwards to cover the lower half of his face like a mask. The collar is normally open from the front, but he can close it using two small metallic parts resembling a gate, supposedly to protect his more sensitive neck.

Keebo has headphone-shaped objects instead of ears, and they also include black screen and green text.

"Well, look at this, Makoto!" Kokichi exclaimed proudly. "The world is mine to control now, and everyone is here to watch! Now, in order for this picture to be perfect... I need you by my side. Come on, every Evil Ruler needs a Good Right Hand like you!"

Kokichi Ōma laughed. The Ultimate Supreme Leader is a young man with an innocent look and a rather refined face. He has a short stature, a thin build, and very pale skin. He has purple eyes and moderately long, wavy blackish purple hair. He does not seem to care about his hair and the hair style is a result of him playing with it—however, he does sometimes make use of the shadows his bangs form to make himself look evil.

He wore a white suit with multiple straps wrapped around his arms, and two straps hanging loose around his legs. Apparently, his pants were made to look like a piece of punk fashion with bondage pelts, but they are actually just fake belts sewed to thicker part of the thighs. His shirt was ripped at the hem and the collar part of it is completely gone, and big parts of the uniform are fixed with metal clips. He had multi-colored buttons running down the middle of his shirt, with a few usually hidden under his scarf, and he has military badges on his right. His scarf had black and white spaces alternating exactly like a chessboard.

He also wore two-colored black and purple slip flats, and he wore a white belt. He also wore a dark flowing cloak and a leather peaked hat with a gold badge on top of it, giving him a more malicious look.

"Oi, Makoto!" Miu called our. "This girl is going to rock the world right now…! And she will rock yours too. You just have to say 'yes'."

Miu Iruma had always been too forward for Makoto's tastes. The Ultimate Inventor is a tall young woman with shoulder-length, strawberry blonde hair and a baseball cap turned backwards. She has icy blue eyes, and her irises, as well as the rings around her pupils, have an unusual, ragged pattern, making them appear slightly mechanical-looking and thus possibly referencing her talent. Miu wore brown goggles with yellow accents on her cap. She wore a small t-shirt that was exposing her cleavage and parts of her stomach.

However, her shorty short overalls were covering her belly button. She wore black and studded fingerless gloves, with black heeled-boots with gold buttons and buckles on them. She had black straps connected with gold rings attached to her white socks. She wore a black choker, and two smaller black collars that resemble barbed wire around her neck. Miu had a metal backpack hanging from her shoulders that has two long metal arms extending from it.

"Ah, Makoto," the Lucky Student turned to Rantarō. "I am going on a new journey to find my family and live with them happily. I will need you to support me… We're going to have some family bondings after that." Rantarō Amami, the Ultimate Adventurer, is a tall young man with light green hair and two small ahoge.

His eyes are green and have notably long, thick eyelashes. He wore a dark blue striped sweater with gray pants and slip-on shoes. His sarouel pants tied to his ankles are loosely based on a traditional garb from Islamic culture. His sweater had a big dark symbol resembling his former high school, Hope's Pass High School, as well as both a boat's steering wheel and the setting sun. Rantarō has a necklace with a crystal accessory on it.

He wore a silver bracelet on his right wrist and a different, larger bracelet on the left. He also had multiple silver rings. One on his left index finger, one on his right thumb, and one on the right index finger. His right middle finger has a one bigger and darker ring. His right ear had six piercings - five rings and one bead earring - while his left ear only has one bead earring.

He also had a one piercing on his right eyebrow. He is relatively good-looking and it is noted that he looks like a 'playboy.'

"M-Makoto… I-I'm so sorry…" Makoto then turned to a crying Kaede. "I-I couldn't save any of them… b-but I can still save you. Please… don't resist. I-I can't afford to lose you too…"

Kaede Akamatsu, the Ultimate Pianist and class representative, has shoulder-length blonde hair and a prominent ahoge. She wore silver music note hairpins and has warm purple eyes. She wore her high school uniform, which consists of a long-sleeved white shirt completed with a pink ribbed-hem sweater vest adorned with her previous schools insignia and an orange tie. She wore a dark, warm purple skirt pattern with black music staves and lining each of them. The song on her skirt creates an actual melody, but it doesn't seem to be any relevant tune.

Dark purple knee socks are adorned with her previous schools insignia on the top of them, and beige shoes with dark brown laces and soles. Kaede also carries around a white backpack, that has a gold clasp. Makoto than turned his attention to the Future Foundation.

"Makoto … this is too dangerous to do." Mekuru said. "Please … don't resist." Mekuru Katsuragi, or Sleeping Mekuru, has a small figure, with short light brown colored hair and two ahoges, usually hidden under her hoodie and light green eyes. She wore a long jacket with black outlines that reaches her hips, a short skirt, puffy white socks and dark colored sneakers.
Her jacket could be zipped all the way up, covering her face.

"M-Makoto … they're crazy … save yourself." Misaki cried. "I-I don't want to see you like this…" Misaki Asano is a petite woman with a determined expression. She has blonde hair styled held back by a black headband with a red streak going through it and large gray eyes, sometimes drawn as light blue.

She wore a standard Future Foundation uniform consisting of a white dress shirt, black jacket, red tie, black skirt and shoes.

"Yup," the Killer Killer agreed. "Things are nuts here. You wanna save your sanity? Then ya better run." Takumi Hijirihara is tall with an average build and a bored expression. He has short black hair with a noticeable ahoge, and dark red eyes. He wore the standard Future Foundation suit-and-tie uniform. His uniform and hair are disheveled, causing Misaki to label him as a slob.

"Listen to them. Don't … Don't let them take you. Save yourself from these monsters." Makoto turned to Ikue Dōgami. Ikue is a slender woman who always has a serious and professional look to her.

She has black hair which she keeps held up in a bun using hair pins and has yellow eyes. She wore glasses and dresses in a black jacket and white dress shirt.

"Young Makoto," said the Great Gozu, "it's over now. I hate to say this, but... you cannot win this fight." Despite his gentle nature, the former Ultimate Wrestler gives off a very intimidating vibe, with his large build and the theme of his wrestling persona — he wore the mask of a cow's head, with piercing red eyes and a scowling appearance. Underneath, he has a stern face, brown hair and a goatee. He wore a blue tie and a black suit, with the Future Foundation ID pinned to its lapel.

"The tree must be saved … so the apples can be eaten. You understand, right?" Those were the words of Daisuke Bandai. The former Ultimate Farmer has a heavy, muscular build, but also a cute, feminine voice. He has rosy cheeks, cartoonish eyes, and a wide grin.

He has an afro and a goatee. He wore a pale brown suit, with the Future Foundation pin on its lapel, a white sweatsuit with a green circle design on his shirt, and wooden geta. He also wears a straw hat around his neck.

"M-Mako-chan…!" Ruruka cried. "Y-Yoi-chan is d-dead…! Please, don't leave me alone like this…!" The Ultimate Confectioner, Ruruka Andō, has lilac eyes, short strawberry blonde hair, and a petite, cheerful appearance.

She wore a pink coat with puffy white fur trimming, yellow shorts, white thigh high socks and pink boots with multiple straps. She also had a yellowish hat with a small strawberry on top of it; where she has pinned her Future Foundation ID. There was also a triangle pattern on the back of her hat.

[Makoto… I know I failed them, but … I think there is still a way to save them. But please… we've got to do this together.] Makoto simply stared at the former Ultimate Therapist he once called councilor. Miaya Gekkōgahara is a short woman with blue hair, held by a light gray headband. She has blue eyes and long eyelashes.

She wore a gray headphone and a long, dark red scarf which hides the lower part of her face. She wore a pale brown jacket, a black vest, a white dress shirt, and a black skirt. She also wore long black socks and white slippers. Her facial expressions never changed and her eyes lack emotion. Miaya used a wheelchair equipped with a modern PC screen, which is where Monomi appeared.

Monomi is a pink and white rabbit with one floppy ear accessorized with a gold moon. Like Monokuma, who redesigned her, her design is split in color down the middle, with her left side pink and her right side white. She has one red robotic circular eye. She wore a cloth diaper and had a visible navel. She carried a tree branch with a white cloth tied around it.

"M-Makoto… Th-They are going to hurt you… Run." Seiko begged. "I-I don't want to see you like this…" Seiko Kimura is a short woman with purple eyes and a sickly complexion.

She has a pale grey hair and a respirator mask covering her mouth. She wore a dark-colored jacket with the Future Foundation ID pinned to the lapel, a white dress shirt, a dark miniskirt held by a purple belt, long black stockings, and purple Mary Janes. Under her respirator mask, she wore braces. She also wore purple gloves with a single white stripe in the middle. Her eyes gave her a frightening look.

"Hey buddy," Makoto turned to the former Talent Scout. "I know I shouldn't say this, but … Kyōko needs us. Both of us." Kōichi Kizakura is a relaxed-looking man with blue eyes and ragged blond hair. He has a pencil-thin mustache and goatee.

He wore a worn down, white fedora, a faded dark blue tie and a black suit with the Future Foundation ID pinned to the jacket's lapel. He also wore light brown slip-ons.

"Oh, my… just look at all these people, Makoto." Was the voice of headmaster Jin predecessor. "They look so … desperate. But they need to learn. In order for things to be done the right way… some things must be sacrificed.

"You understand, don't you?" Kazuo Tengan is an elderly man with silver, upswept hair and amber eyes. He has a mustache and beard, and very sullen face. He also wore glasses, a jacket, with the Future Foundation ID pinned to its lapel, a white dress shirt along with a red tie and a black vest. He wore black pants and brown oxford shoes.

"Wha…! What the hell are you doing?" Makoto directed his focus to the voice coming from the Student Council. "Come on, do something!" Asukasei Hino has short dark-colored hair and reddish brown eyes. He wore glasses and the standard Hope's Peak Uniform with a bright turquoise tie.

"Yes, do something … and see what will happen next." Was the threat delivered from Daiki Kubo. His features are slightly more stylized than his fellow Student Council members, with a squarish face, greenish-gray hair, and very dark brown eyes that seem to have little to no sclerae. He wore the standard uniform of Hope's Peak Academy.

"M-Makoto… you didn't forgot your promise, right?" Karen asked. "I-I need you… these punks are just getting on my nerves." Karen Kisaragi has short brownish green hair, which falls just above her shoulders and is slightly curled; notably, two of her bangs cross over each other on either side of her eyes. She has blue-green eyes behind her thin white glasses, and she wore the standard uniform of Hope's Peak Academy.

"D-Don't listen to her, Makoto!" Kiriko cried. "I-I know you would prefer to come towards me." Kiriko Nishizawa has violet eyes and light magenta hair, with part of the latter styled into a pair of small buns. She wore the standard dress shirt of Hope's Peak Academy and a dark gray skirt with white undergarments.

She also wore a red headband with a bow on top of her head.

"Are you kidding?! He would definitely pick me! I was the Vice-President, mind you!" Kotomi Ikuta has yellow eyes and long red hair, with some strands flaring out rather dramatically. She wore a white headband and the standard uniform of Hope's Peak Academy.

"Makoto," Someya cried for help from the Lucky Student. "This is literally hell here! P-Please, don't leave! We need you!" Ryōta Someya is a short boy with blue eyes and blue hair styled in a loose 'bowl cut'.

Instead of a dress shirt and tie, he wore a grey hoodie under the standard Hope's Peak Academy blazer. He had several stuffed animals on his person; a yellow teddy bear in the left pocket of his blazer, a blue teddy bear in the right pocket, and a green dragon or dinosaur in the front pocket of his hoodie.

"No, don't leave," said the cruel voice of Shōji. "Things are about to be fun around here." Shōji Yokō has yellow-green hair. He wore a necklace. He also wore a black jacket and suit with a blue shirt.

"Yup!" Sōsuke yelped with wicked delight. "Wanna join the fun? The more the merrier!" Sōsuke Ichino has yellow eyes and short red hair styled to resemble flames.

He wore the standard Hope's Peak Uniform, with the jacket tied around his waist.

"Yes," Suzuko agreed, "It would definitely be better if you were around." Suzuko Kashiki has short brown hair and bright blue eyes. She wore the standard uniform of Hope's Peak Academy with a red ribbon instead of a tie. She also has slightly darker skin than her fellow members.

"Besides, think of the things we would do together." Makoto stared and Tomohiko Gōryoku as he internally tried hold back his true personality. Tomohiko is a large man with a powerful build and stern facial features. He had his dark hair tied back in a short ponytail, with the strands spiking outward in many directions. His Hope's Peak Academy uniform was noticeably unique, including overalls, a dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and a yellow tie.

"You mean … you would steal him from me!?" Tsubasa growled viciously. "Tarō was like this too! But Makoto is MINE! I had to make him understand … the hard way."

Tsubasa Kamii has long, light colored hair which reaches down to her waist. It's left mostly loose but some of it is tied back with a hair ornament in the shape of a butterfly surrounded by leafs. Her eyes are a pale blue and her skin appears fair. She wore a customized Hope's Peak uniform consisting of a white dress shirt, a standard red bow, and a dark blue skirt. Additionally, she wore black, thigh high stockings and a low cut, caramel colored cardigan.

Her shoe wear were typical school shoes.

"M-Makoto," whimpered the small voice of Aiko. "I don't recognize them anymore… ! P-Please, don't end up like them!" Aiko Umesawa is a notably small and short girl with short, wavy, brown hair and a noticeable blush on her cheeks. She has heterochromia; her left eye is green, while her right eye is blue.

She donned a yellow bunny hoodie over the standard Hope's Peak Academy's uniform. The ears seemed to mimic her expressions—when she is frightened, the ears droop. She also wore black socks and white slippers that have a bow on the instep.

"She is right, Makoto." The Ultimate Student Council President agreed. "D-Don't stay close to us. Save yourself while you can!" Sōshun Murasame is a man of average height with brown hair and hazel eyes.

He has a clean and honest face, referring to his high sense of morals. While at Hope's Peak Academy, Sōshun wore their school uniform (a brown suit with a blue necktie) and a white cuff around his right arm.

"My apologies, young Makoto," said a Butler. "However, wherever my master goes, I should follow." Aloysius Pennyworth is a stern-faced, aged man with pale blue eyes. His fairly long hair is completely white and combed backwards. He also has a white beard running down from his temples all the way across his chin, as well as a thin grey mustache.

He appeared to still be dressed as an employed butler would.

"You too can join if you'd like," said the Ultimate Secretary. "I would be more than pleased to … serve you as well." Shinobu Togami is very pretty and she is a cyborg. Her left arm, both hands and her right eye are mechanical due to the effects of The Tragedy. Her right eye was replaced with an artificial eye she called 'Borges'.

It functions as an encyclopedia that updates in real time. It also has dictionaries, news, current events, and maps.

"S-Sayaka will be happy … and I will be happy." Satomi said. "We've discussed it all together, don't worry." Satomi Aoba has an appearance noticeably similar to Sayaka's, this being said with her skin shade, hair, and eye color. She was wearing a sleeveless pure white dress-like attire with knee high tights and a headband of some sort placed atop her head of somewhat short hair.

"Hey! Big bro is here, so you've got to be with us too! Things won't be fun otherwise." Fujiko Yamada is a very small, chubby girl. She looks younger than she is and her real age is a mystery.

She has long, dark brown hair, with a small ahoge on top, which she ties in two big sidebuns; making her hairdo look very similar to her brother's when viewed from the front. She has huge brown eyes, thick eyebrows, a small cat-like smile (just like her brother), and odd swirl patterns on her cheeks. She wore a long sleeved school girl uniform along with black tights and white slip ons.

"Kid," Makoto turned to Hiro's mother. "I don't know what else to say... except for you to run. Seriously… this place is hell." Hiroko Hagakure is a fair-skinned woman with light pink hair that reaches her waist. She has brown eyes, much like Hiro, and a beauty mark beneath her lips.

She wore a white bead necklace, a white tank top, and a blue stadium jacket with an unknown symbol on the right side. She also wore black ripped jeans held up by a salmon colored belt and sky blue sneakers.

"If there is anyone who doesn't deserve it, it's you. L-Leon chan is dead... I don't want you to join his killers." Kanon Nakajima has shoulder length chestnut brown hair, part of which is held up by a black ribbon with white lace. Her eyes are a pale shade of yellow.

She wore what seems to be a high school girls' sailor uniform. She is mentioned to be physically fit and 'pretty ripped', and she is able to run for a long time without getting out of breath. Her hands have callouses due to her constant baseball training to fulfill a bet with her cousin, Leon Kuwata. Both Hiroko Hagakure and Komaru Naegi say that Kanon is pretty, Komaru even saying that Kanon looks like the main protagonist of a shōjo manga. She always wears a thick layer of make-up.

"You're the Crazy Diamonds last hope, dude. You've got to survive." Takemichi Yukimaru is a short teenage boy with spiky hair that extends out in the front. He wore a black student uniform. He is described as being very good-looking by Hiroko Hagakure.

"Hey! Dont tell him that!" Aoi's little brother yelled. "Aoi wants him for a date!" Yuta is a tan skinned boy who has short, brown hair and blue eyes.

He is around the same age as Komaru Naegi, but slightly younger, most likely around the age of 14-15. He wore a white tank top under his teal-blue track jacket with a sign that reads 'dog can go like 3 cups rice dog oh love since 1981' on it. It is unknown what the saying means. Yuta also wore beige shorts, red sneakers, and bright yellow socks.

"A-And Sayaka, too," said Naoko. "Like this, we can be a happy family together, just like she wants…" Naoko Maizono, Sayaka's little sister, is a girl of good nature, about 13 or 14 years old. Naoko has short, shoulder-length hair which curls outwards, although some pieces show two streaks of hair sticking out. Her hair is naturally the same color as Sayaka's and hung down much like hers.

Her facial structure was also meant to be similar to Sayaka's, making their outwards appearances similar. Her hair is adorned by a white hair pin. She wore a long sleeved shirt accompanied by a vest jacket, and baggy culottes tied with a bow over a pair of dark tights or leggings. Her shoe wore is unclear, though it's most likely supposed to be reminiscent of Japanese indoor shoes worn in Elementary schools. She carried a small handbag with a dark, rabbit shaped mascot key-chain attached to it.

"Makoto… don't stay here." Yutō told the Lucky Student. "Yasuke wouldn't have wanted this." Yutō Kamishiro, Ultimate Secret Agent, around 18 year old boy, though he looks and sounds much younger, like a child. He is also said to be featureless, so much that it is 'an astounding distinguishing feature all by itself.'

He sports a bowl haircut and has puffy cheeks. He has dark brown eyes. He wore a brown suit and brown pants, with a long sleeved white shirt underneath with a Hope's peak Academy button located on the front as well as white rubber shoes. After that, Makoto heard someone chuckling from Class 77-B.

"Well, well, Makoto," said Teruteru. "Just look at all these people waiting for you …" The chuckled cruelly. "Well, what are you waiting for? It is quite rude to make people wait." Teruteru Hanamura, the Ultimate Cook, has a plump body and wears a classic, red chef outfit.

It is composed of a red apron with a red undershirt, a yellow handkerchief/scarf around his neck. Three silver stars are pinned on the right side of his undershirt. A large chef's hat sits on his head. He has dark brown hair all over that is styled in a pompadour that noticeably leans to the left, and constantly carries around a comb to fix his hair. Unlike most people, Teruteru's eyes are normally two, dark dots or remain closed in the anime fashion.

"Makoto darling, my country will need the both of us in order to go back to our glorious duty …!" Sonia said to the Lucky Student. "Come now. It is rude to make your princess, or rather, your queen, wait." The despairful, loving giggles of Sonia Nevermind, the Ultimate Princess of the Kingdom of Novoselic, was unsettling to Makoto as his … other side tried to break free.

She is a tall, young woman with long light-blonde hair, pale skin, and blue eyes. Sonia wore a white puffy dress that had a large red rose pinned on it, and a white crown that had sharp edges on it.

"Makoto, I think I've got it now." The Imposter said. "I can become whoever I desire … and I think I want to become the president of this country. And a good president needs a good right hand." The Ultimate Imposter's real appearance is that of a person with long, black hair and green eyes.

Their age is unknown, though they appear to be in their early twenties. They have a very heavy build, yet they can fool others with their disguises despite that.

"M-Makoto …" Mitarai cried. "I'm so sorry … I-I was forced to brainwash them … but please. I-I need you now. P-perhaps I can save them with you …"

Ryōta Mitarai, the Ultimate Animator, has a very skinny, somewhat frail-looking frame. He has heavy bags under his eyes and a withdrawn posture, giving him a tired and anxious appearance. He has short, light brown hair and hazel eyes. He wore a black suit with a green tie and the Future Foundation ID pinned to its lapel.

"It appears that you are afraid, Makoto." Peko said. "But I assure you, those people only want our best interests. Please, do not resist. I only want to protect you."

Peko Pekoyama was the Ultimate Swordswoman and is a tall, young woman, who wore white clothing, including a jacket and pants. She has also replaced her shinai with a standard metal katana, presumably due to no longer needing to hide her true lethality as a student of Hope's Peak. She has long, silver hair that she ties up into two braids on either side of her head with white ribbons securing each braid at the top, and two red ties to hold each braid together at the bottom. Her eyes are also bright red. Peko also wore thin framed rectangular glasses.

"MAKOTO! Your coach will need some support in order to train everyone for achieving their dreams!" Those words came from the booming bellowing of Nekomaru Nidai, the Ultimate Coach. He is a very tall, muscular man with black hair. He wore a white tank top under a white jacket with golden patterns, as well as blue tracksuit pants and sandals.

He had chains around his neck with a whistle hanging in the middle part and emits a red electric aura from his eyes. Nekomaru has two scars running from the top of his both eyes downwards in their own directions. He also had a towel tucked into the back of his pants.

"Ah, look at this glorious hope shining, Makoto!" Nagito asked. "And it's all thanks to you! Come now! Everyone is here, waiting for you! We all need our hope to shine even brighter!

"We need our savior with us!" Nagito Komaeda was my predecessor, the First Ultimate Lucky Student. Nagito has light grey-green eyes, and sickly pale skin. His hair is shoulder-length and naturally wavy, and an unnaturally pale off-white color white fades to white closer to his scalp, and looks like it doesn't belong to a living person. He wore a cropped black jacket, with three white buttons on the right and one red button on the left.

Underneath, he wore a dark-red and olive-green scoop-neck shirt, with long sleeves that are folded over the cuffs of the jacket. Under this was a long beige undershirt. He wore black jeans with black low heeled shoes, tied with red shoelaces.

"M-Makoto… " Mikan Tsumiki, the Ultimate Nurse, began to coo with affection. "My love … I want us to be together. Join us … I'll make sure to take care of you gooooood …!" She has long, choppy, dark purple hair that is cut unevenly as a result of bullying. She has light, greyish-purple eyes.

There is a beauty mark under her left eye's corner. She wore white nurse clothing along with a hat. She had bandages wrapped around her right arm and left leg. She wore one elbow length medical glove on her left arm, as well as a glove on her right hand that only goes up to her bandaged wrist.

"Hey, Makoto! Just look at all of these happy faces!" Mahiru said. "I'm going to have so much pretty faces now! But, you know, I would like it if you were to join.

"Come on … it's your responsibility as a man!" These were the unsettling words of the Ultimate Photographer, Mahiru Koizumi. She has dark red hair in a bob cut, olive green eyes, and a pale face with light freckles across her cheeks. Mahiru's outfit consisted of an olive-green school jumper with a plaid white-and-orange tie, which she knots around the collar of her uniform shirt. She wore dark green knee-high socks, and her shoes are a dark shade of forest green.

Directly below the opening of the socks, there is a small orange symbol.

"Hey, Makoto!" Sōda called out. "I think I found the way to solve the pollution problem! Come on, buddy, I need you to put the plan to fruition!" Kazuichi Sōda, the Ultimate Mechanic, wore a bright green-yellow jumper with a dark brown streak on both sides and several hot pink markings that go down to his ankles.

Kazuichi's shoes were bright yellow sneakers. Kazuichi's hair is dyed hot pink and is somewhat badly layered. In addition to his punk rock appearance, he has thin eyes with hot pink prescription color contacts on them at all times. Above his eyes, his thin, pronounced eyebrows nearly touch his hairline. His teeth are sharp, giving him an intimidating grin.

He also had earrings, the right one having a plus sign and the left one having a minus sign.

"Makotooooo!" The Ultimate Musician called. "Ibuki was looking all over for you! She wants to sing the song she wrote about you! And she wants you to be with her!

"Come on, Ibuki needs you!" Ibuki Mioda is a pale girl with pink eyes. She has long multi-colored hair consisting of black, pink, blue and white, some of which is tied into two oni-horns on the top of her head. Ibuki had a style of clothing that is very unlike what one would think a Light Music Club member would wear. She wore a sailor uniform with a black pleated skirt and ripped thigh highs (the right one is pink and the left one is blue).

Both of her ears have six needle earrings and an earlobe gauge. She also had three piercings under the left side of lip and black nail polish. She wore a necklace, a black scrunchy with a stitch-like pattern on right wrist, a black and pink glove-like sleeve on her on her left upper arm with a silver bracelet and three silver rings on her left hand. Her shoes were white, with blue shoelaces on the right one and pink shoelaces on the left one.

"Pcht!" Hiyoko scoffed. "Don't listen to these losers, Makoto. There's a better place for you with me. After all, I still need my slave.

"And I've prepared the perfect dance just for you, you know." Hiyoko Saionji, the Ultimate Traditional Japanese, laughed at Makoto's expense. She is a tall, slender girl with long, blonde hair. Hiyoko also wears a yellow kimono with a pink rose-outline pattern and a purple obi sash. She also wears zori (Japanese sandals). Her outfit reflects the fact she is the Ultimate Traditional Dancer.

"Fuhahahaha!" Gundham laughed. "Makoto, my dear familiar! This world has finally recognized my true power! Come now, my dear familiar!

"We need to be together so our power becomes even stronger!" Makoto looked up at Gundham Tanaka, the Ultimate Animal Breeder. Gundham's skin tone is noticeably pale and greyish compared to the other characters, which could suggest that he doesn't get out much. His head appears to be shaved from the neck up to his temple, where the rest of his hair seems to be slicked back with the exception of a poof of hair in the middle that sticks up and is fairly curly. His hair color is black with pale grey streaks through it.

This may either be due to bleaching his hair or a melanin deficiency known as poliosis, giving him several 'Mallen streaks'. Interestingly, Gundham has no eyebrows. He has grey eyes, but his right eye has a red contact lens. He also has a greyish scar tattoo that runs down the left side of his face and through his left eye. His 'Hellhound Earring' (Devil Dog Earring in the Japanese release) hangs from his right ear, and he wears two silver rings on his right hand (pointer and middle).

"Oi, Makoto," said the Yakuza, "come here, man. I need to find the perfect man for my sis. See, she's waiting for you. Don't make her wait." Fuyuhiko Kuzuryū, the Ultimate Yakuza, is a slim man known for having a refined face, sometimes coming off as a 'baby face'.

Because of his rather fairly shorter build, Fuyuhiko generally presents an overly aggressive demeanor to assert that he is, in fact, a tough gangster. He has a dusty blond crew cut hair, with a distinct pair of curved lines shaved on each side of his head. He also has freckles along the bridge of his nose and a birthmark near his mouth on the right side. His eyes are gold, and he has permanent blush marks on both cheeks.

"Hey, Makoto!" The Ultimate Gymnast called. "I've managed to have a position for my siblings! Come with me, they already love you now! And I'll let you touch my boobs!"

Akane Owari is a tall young woman with an athletic, curvaceous physique. She has tan skin, dark gray eyes, and unkempt, shoulder-length chestnut hair. Akane has the same short hair. She has a white coat with ripped sleeves. In addition to that, she only wears a black tube top and black shorts, making her stomach and six pack visible.

"Hey, Makoto! Everyone is going to work hard for their futures!" Chisa chirped. "But these rotten oranges just don't know how to do it … That's where you come in handy.

"I need you to teach them. Come on, you're my favorite after all." The Former Ultimate Housekeeper, Chisa Yukizome, smiled her usual cheery smile that held an air of unusual cruelty. She is a young, petite and smiling woman, who comes across very cheerful and friendly. She has large green eyes and orange hair almost always tied into a ponytail.

A small part of hair on the right side of her head is curled. She wore a white coat, with the Future Foundation ID pinned to its lapel, a pink dress shirt, and a black vest. She wore a black pencil skirt, black tights, and black mid-heel shoes.

"Just … Just give up, kid." Jūzō said to the Lucky Student. "They're too many of them. It's … It's better this way." Jūzō Sakakura, the Former Ultimate Boxer, sighed in despair.

He is a tall, muscular man with an intimidating stature and is described as good-looking. He has short dark greenish grey hair, pink eyes, and tan skin. He wore a heavy dark-colored jacket with thick fur trimming and a red crest on his left shoulder. Underneath, he wore a white muscle shirt, black pants, and long black boots. His Future Foundation ID is pinned to the reverse side of his jacket's top button.

Kyōsuke Munakata, the Former Ultimate Student Council President, nodded in agreement. He is tall and leans with a pasty white complexion. His appearance is also very colorless. He has silver hair, blue eyes, and a cold expression. He wore a pale suit with a blue dress shirt, and a faded pink necktie.

His tie has a mysterious black insignia on it, and the tips of his shoes have three dots pointed in a triangle. He lost his right eye after a confrontation with Kazuo.

"He-He is right … you can't win this fight," he said. "If you want to live … it's the only way."

"Oi, Makoto," said Natsumi. "You've heard my bro. Get over here. I still need you a lot, ya know." Natsumi Kuzuryū has long blonde hair, grayish olive eyes and similarly to her brother, she has permanent blush marks on both cheeks.

She wore the Hope's Peak Academy uniform and also seems to be fairly taller than her brother.

"Jeez, Makoto, I'm sorry, but … I need you to keep an eye on Natsumi." Satō added. "I can't let her do what she wants with Mahiru. Also, I'll have to ask you help me out with her, too. I can't please her on my own."

Satō has long wavy viridian hair, violet eyes, and wore the uniform of Hope's Peak Academy with black knee highs and white sneakers. She appears to be quite tall.

"Makoto … I-I was too late …" Chiaki sobbed. "Please, they are going to do the same with you. I-I don't want you to disappear … not like that."

I looked Chiaki Nanami, the Ultimate Gamer, who looked at me with an equal amount of sorrow. Chiaki has short, pale mauve hair which is slightly curled. She wears a white clip in the shape of the spaceship from Galaga to the side of her face and has pale pink eyes. She wears a one button blue-grey cardigan, with a hood that has pointed ears on the top and two pink markings on the front.

Chiaki is often seen wearing a pink cat-like backpack as well. Under her hoodie, she wore a white buttoned shirt with a pink ribbon and a pale brown skirt. Chiaki also wears thigh highs the same color as her jacket and pink shoes.

"Makoto," said Izuru. "This is not a fight you can win. Not with everyone by our side. It's better to join your family." Makoto looked to Izuru, formerly known as Hajime Hinata.

Formerly his half-brother.

His big brother.

He has very long, flowing black hair. His hair is smooth, though it's also been portrayed as messy. In addition, he has red eyes (as opposed to the green eyes of Hajime) with symbols resembling target radars running across his pupils.

He also seems to have a pale complexion almost gray/cadaverous. He wore a black suit with three white buttons, a black tie and a white dress shirt inside. He also has a black belt and black loafers.

"Makoto. Don't just stay here," said Miss Seikatsu. "Don't worry about us … You have to save your skin." Miss Mizu Seikatsu, the Ultimate Doctor, always seemed calm no matter the situation.

She has shoulder-length, teal colored hair styled in spherical shape that framed her face. She also had bags under her teal eyes, a serious sign of lack of sleep. She wore a lab coat over a dark blue dress suit.

"Makoto," the voice of Sakura was heard, "you promised to watch me becoming the strongest woman in the world. And Ken'ichirō would like you to hold on that promise." Sakura Ōgami, the Ultimate Martial Artist, was not the Ultimate she used to be. She has long white hair, very pale blue eyes, and smooth skin with a nice complexion. Her school uniform consisted of a traditional seifuku style Japanese school uniform comprising of a white shirt a blue sailor collar, a short blue skirt, and a red tie.

The sleeves on the uniform were torn off. She was wearing bandages wrapped around her calves and forearms. Her shoes were grey and resemble Uwabaki, with writing on the toe box.

"Yo, Makoto," Mondo called out, "this world is a wrecked up place now. Fortunately, it can help me become a carpenter. You'll have your own, dude … Just hope you'll be here to fuckin' watch me." Mondo Ōwada, class rebel, was the Ultimate Biker Gang Leader.

He has a tall stature and muscular build which gives him a bulky figure, he also has chiseled facial features such as clearly defined cheekbones which makes him appear more manly and rough. He has an unusual, dark-brown punch perm with a slight variation which alters the hairstyle to what is known as an 'aippa', a cross between an afro and an early 1960s pompadour. The young man has slightly tanned skin and a deep-ridged black eye line circling his small purple eyes which gives him an intimidating appearance. The eyelashes on the outer halves of his lower eyelids are distinctively long and this gives him a fierce expression. His school uniform reflected that of a typical bōsōzoku, comprising of a black overcoat known in Japan as 'tokkō-fuku', adorned with a symbol many would recognise as the symbol of The Crazy Diamonds along with Japanese text and dragon symbol motifs colored orange, worn open over a white A-shirt.

He wore baggy black pants held up by a belt and his shoes were white loafers. The buckle of the guy's belt was shaped like the face of a Komainu.

"Classmate Makoto!" Taka shouted. "This world has been brought to its knees! But we can use this situation to establish our life-saving solution! And as your friend, I ask you to join my side so we can save those people from themselves!"

Kiyotaka Ishimaru was the Ultimate Public Morals Committee Member. Taka has short spiky black hair and very large matching eyebrows. He has intense red eyes. He wore a white uniform with five golden buttons on each sleeve and six on his chest, a red and gold medal on his chest, a red armband with the kanji (風紀 fūki) meaning 'Public Morals', and knee-high black lace-up boots. The kanji character that adorned the lapel of his shirt, 参, actually represents a verb read as 参る mairu which means either 'to be defeated', 'to be annoyed', 'to be madly in love' or 'to visit a shrine or grave'.

Makoto turned his attention to the Ultimate Dōjin Author, Hifumi Yamada.

"Ah, my dear friend Mr. Makoto Naegi!" He said. "The world is finally starting to recognize my true talent! I shall ask you to join me! Together, we shall make the world as we see fit!"

He is an overweight young man with black hair and a short pointed ahoge. He wore a pair of black thick-rimmed glasses. He is dressed in a white button-down shirt, an orange tie which has a patterned double-headed blue arrow upon it with the smaller arrowhead pointing upwards and the larger arrowhead pointing downwards to the tip of the tie, a pair of dark gray trousers, and white trainers. Over his shirt is a light grey, unbuttoned cardigan and on his back is an orange backpack.

"Makoto," Chihiro called forth, "you said you would accept me whatever would happen, right? Well … please join me. I want us to be together like this … forever." Chihiro Fujisaki, the Ultimate Programmer, is a boy crossdressing as a girl. He has a small, lithe stature and doll-like appearance with short, light brown, layered hair and hazel colored eyes.

He wore a girls' winter school uniform set, featuring a long-sleeved dark green jacket, a white shirt with a large Peter Pan collar secured with a thin dark ribbon, suspenders, a box-pleated brown mid-thigh length brown skirt, knee-high black socks, and white, ribboned mary janes. The logo of his school, St. Elbandia Academy, is featured on his buttons and the sides of his socks.

"Well, Makoto," the Ultimate Gambler said, "my dear B-Rank. I think it is time for us to departure. Our mansion is waiting for us." That was the Queen of Liars who's name is Celestia Ludenberg. Celes has a slim figure and pale skin.

She has black hair in two large twin-drill pigtails. She has red eyes and gold circular earrings which have an image depicting the cross engraved into them with a red gem placed in the center if each. Celestia also wore black nail polish. Celestia was wearing a gothic lolita-style outfit, consisting of a white blouse with a Peter-Pan collar, a black jacket that includes white ribbon lacing down the sleeves, fastened by a simple white ribbon across her chest to reveal her red tie that consisted of a butterfly pattern layered on top of various spears with skulls attached to it, and the waist of her skirt, which is many-tiered and features white lace.

Celestia also wore knee-high stockings trimmed in ladder lace, red mary janes with a thick heel held on her feet by three grey buckles, a white lace Mob cap and a silver, Gunmetal plated ring layered in overlapping sections on her index finger which is likely her gambling lucky charm.

"Hey, Makoto! That's it!" Hiro proclaimed. "I've reached the 100% power! Now I can see everyone's future!

"And I say that everyone will be happy once you've joined us!" Yasuhiro Hagakure, the Ultimate Clairvoyant, has dark brown extravagant hairstyle, spiky and large dreadlocks. He wore three layers of shirts, the top one being an old green uniform jacket, the second one being a white rough shirt, and his third layer was a small yellow short sleeve shirt. He wore a brown haramaki and uses a yellow rope as his belt.

"Makoto," the Lucky Student, now stiff and struggling to restrain his TRUE self, directed his gaze at Byakuya Togami, "the Togami Corporation is going to be rebuilt to be purely unstoppable. Come and join me. That is an order." The Ultimate Heir is an attractive young man with a tall, slim figure, and donned a black suit. He was wearing a white shirt underneath and a green criss-cross tie.

He has short blond hair, blue eyes, and he also wore white framed glasses. His usual arrogance was different now, judging by how he now held the bar of his podium instead of his arms being crossed as usual and his twisted, despair-induced smile now upon his face.

"Come on, Makoto!" Aoi chirped. "Everyone needs your help now! And I need you, too! We still have to go to our date together, after all!"

Aoi Asahina, the Ultimate Swimmer, has tanned skin, blue eyes, and a rather curvaceous body that is usually the subject of the Fukawa Twins harassment. She wore her brown hair in a ponytail, which becomes spikier when she gets upset and droops when she's sad. Hina wore blue athletic shorts, a red track suit jacket over a white tank top, white knee high socks, and green sneakers.

"Master … listen to me instead! We've got to plan our wedding, my White Knight!"

"Yo, Big Mac! Come on, the fun has just begun!" Makoto's gaze rolled over to the Fukawa Sisters, Tōko and Syō Fukawa, the Ultimate Writing Prodigy and Murderer respectively. Tōko is always seen in a Japanese school uniform with a noticeably lengthy skirt compared to those worn by other girls. She wore round eyeglasses, and her dark purple hair is tied in two long braids. The left side of her chin is marked by a small beauty mark.

It wouldn't be going too far to say Syō is an exact copy of her sister. However, some features did differ. Her irises were expanded and red, and she has an abnormally large tongue over a mouthful of sharp teeth. She also tended to make wild, exaggerated expressions, giving her a much stronger presence than Tōko. She had a container for her scissors attached to her right thigh.

She had tally-marks carved onto her upper thighs, a count of how many people she has killed.

"Makoto, my family needs a fresh start." Kyōko giggled. "And you are the perfect candidate. Don't let me down like the others." Kyōko Kirigiri is a relatively tall young woman, with purple eyes and a pale complexion.

She wore her lavender hair down and with a braid on the side, tied with a black ribbon. Her outfit consisted of a dark purple collared jacket over a white blouse and brown tie, along with a black short skirt and heeled knee-high boots. She also wore her custom-made black gloves to conceal the burn marks on her hands that she had received back when she was an amateur detective.

"Ma-ko-to~" Sayaka sang with a siren's voice. "I'm almost at the peak of my career. So, now I only need you by my side. Come now … you are my idol, after all." Sayaka Maizono, the Ultimate Idol, was very attractive.

She wore eyeliner and blush, which suggested she wore makeup to help keep this appearance. She has long, dark blue hair, which she holds in place with several clips. Her eyes are also dark blue. Her school uniform was a traditional seifuku-style Japanese school uniform comprising of a long sleeved white shirt with a blue sailor collar and a pink bow, a blue tartan skirt, black thigh-high socks and brown, buckled shoes. Her school crest was visible on her undershirt and on her sleeve.

She looked at me with that evil, despair-induced smile.

"Makoto … you wouldn't leave me behind, would you? Come on, join us, please! Everything is going to be just fine!" Mukuro Ikusaba, the Ultimate Soldier. She had a slim figure and, despite being a soldier, her body doesn't appear particularly muscular.

She is similar in appearance to her sister Junko, but there are some notable differences. The Soldier's eyes are less round, more slanted, unlike her sister's. Her bust is also much smaller. She has short, layered, bobbed black hair and freckles across the bridge of her nose. She has a Fenrir tattoo on her right hand.

Junko started laughing as Makoto face turned to her, his becoming emotionless. She looked at the Lucky Student with a cruel, sadistic smile as Makoto focused all of his willpower in control his false persona. If everyone learned the truth of his personality, even the Ultimate Despairs would fear him. Junko, ignorant to Makoto's cracking facade, smiled and said, "Well, well, look at that. Everyone just want you around … you wouldn't break their heart, would you now, Makoto?"

Junko grinned as she saw what she believed was Makoto hope slowly dying out.

'Just a little more," she thought. "Oh, by the way … you would like to see what happened to your dear Komaru, riiiight?" Makoto became as expected. With a grin of despair, Junko snapped her and a secret passage opened behind her. What saw completely broke his mask.

One girl has very long pink hair tied into pigtails and matching pink eyes with speech bubbles acting as the irises. She wore a pink headband with horns, which is branded with an emblem of some kind. She wore a frilled white shirt with a matching black jacket and skirt which both have pink accents. The jacket had a silver badge. She also wore mismatched pink thigh-high socks, and boots.

She has unusual proportions and quite long limbs, which made her more adult-like. The redheaded boy is tan-skinned and covered in small bruises and cuts. He has red hair, bushy eyebrows, and blue eyes with a flame pattern iris. He sported white headphones and wore a white tank top that has another emblem, the silver badge on the front, and a big number 10 on the back.

Underneath, he wore a red and black striped shirt that matches both his armband and socks, blue shorts, and sneakers. Another boy wore a stitched together leather mask that may double as a gas mask, evidence being the breathing tube hanging below his chin. He has gray eyes, with a scalpel pattern as the iris. He wore a baggy brown dress shirt with a red tie, orange-brown shorts and a brown apron. The apron has the silver badge pinned to the breast pocket and his various tools attached to it.

He also carries a white randoseru decorated with a flame motif and filled with more tools. His apron, tool set and randoseru are branded with another emblem. One boy has short blue hair with cowlicks that are in the shape of cat ears. His eyes are a lighter blue and have diamonds representing the irises. He wore a light grey plaid jacket over a blue shirt, and shorts that match the jacket.

He also wore a brown-orange scarf and a bowtie underneath it. The scarf had the silver badge keeping it pinned to his jacket. He also wore blue socks adorned with another emblem. There was also girl in the wheelchair with short green hair tied with a red ribbon and matching eyes with a distinct manji pattern as the iris. She wore a knee-length black dress with a decal of a pelvis and spine on its back.

She wore the silver badge on the collar of her dress. Her legs are incapacitated, so she used an electric wheelchair. The footrest bore yet, another emblem. She also wore black knee highs and white shoes. Finally, she has short, dark brown hair and desaturated green eyes.

She also sports an ahoge, similar to that of mine, which developed as she grew. She outfit included a black cardigan over a white dress shirt, with both left open to the third button to expose the top of her black-and-red bra.

"K-Komaru … No …" Makoto said.

"Makoto… my big brother …" Komaru said. "I think it's time for us to form a happy, big family. And you are the only one missing. Come on, now … It's what everyone wants … It's what I want … It's what you want."

.

.

Inside Makoto heart, a snowy mountain stands high. Near it's center was large, majestic balcony made of silver. At the end, where the balcony becomes one with Mountain side was large door carved into the face. Littered all over the balcony were bodies of Makoto dressed in guard armor. One Makoto leaned against the railing of the balcony coughing as blood trickled down from the wound on his chest.

Coughing, he said, 'B-Be kind for as long as you can … When you feel your boundaries are being pushed … Wh-When you feel the thing … inside you … start to awaken. Until you warn them about it … and they still do not listen.' The mountain began to shake to the booming sounds of inhuman footsteps.

The Makoto guard's light begins to fade as he whispers, 'Th-Then … unleash the dragon … they awakened.' The Makoto guard dies as the grand door burst open, blow the snow from the balcony. Growls came from within the cave behind the doors as as ferocious, slit eyes focus out from the darkness. Glowing eyes the color sapphire gems, filled with anger and, quite honestly, annoyance.

'How dare such a little thing challenge me,' the Dragon said as it emerged from his place of slumber. He is a dragon with the appearance of a large, midnight blue Western Dragon, with a long neck and sapphire eyes. He also has black and silver spikes throughout his body. The large beast looks to the sky and said, 'So, be it. If the fool believes she hold the power to tame me, then let me see her resolve.'

The dragon smiled as it bellowed, 'Let me see if she wields the right blade strike, the True Makoto Naegi, down into the depths useless despair.' The mighty dragon fold and took off to take back control of himself.

Meanwhile, Makoto was now on his knees, his hair obscuring his eyes from the vision of the Ultimate Despairs, the brainwashed ones smiling cruelly at his plight. Komaru began to speak first.

"Oh? What's wrong, Nii-chan? Where did all that hope of your go?" Komaru giggled cruelly. The green-haired girl in the wheelchair, Monaca Tōwa, giggled with her.

"It probably went away the moment he saw you like that, Big Sis!" Monaca cheered.

"Is … Is this it?" The Boy with the Mask, Jatarō Kemuri. "Have we won? Has … Has Despair crushed Hope?"

"Yay!" Kotoko Utsugi chirped with joy. "The Warriors of Despair and Big Sis Junko won!" The cat-haired boy, Nagisa Shingetsu, "That is a relief. Finally, this futile resistance is gone."

"Yeah! Victory is ours! Isn't that sweet?" The redhead, Masaru Daimon, exclaimed with victory. However, the Ultimate Despairs' revelry was short lived as Makoto presence instantly turned the air still, as still as the calm before a coming storm.

Slowly, the Lucky Student rose up to his feet, his posture mannerisms different and unrecognizable. The way he stood copied the aura of emotions that radiated off of him. Anger, confidence, courage, amusement, tranquility … but no Despair … and, incredibly, not a single drop of Hope. No, within the place of his Hope and Despair … was untamed Determination. Makoto's eyes remained unseen, but somehow, the Ultimate Despairs still felt the eerie chill of someone or something gazing into the darkest depths of their souls.

Even Junko felt unnerved. However, she refused to be deterred.

"O-Oh, come now!" Junko went into her Sickening Cuteness persona. "Trying to be brave in the face of defeat? That's cute and all, but you've got to wake up sooner or later!" Makoto remained silent.

There were few things in life that could frighten the Ultimate Despair, in fact her brain normally processed anything involving despair as pure pleasure. But at that moment, an animal part of her brain cried out in fear of being in the presence of something that could swallow her in one fell swoop. The silence was becoming unnerving, so many of the Ultimate Despair joined into to help their Queen out.

"Makoto?" Mukuro called. "Answer her, please. It's rude to stay silent like that, you know?" No response. Only the dreadful sound of the temperature dropping a few degrees.

"Makoto, this is not funny anymore! You better talk now, or else-" Makoto interrupted Tsumugi with a question of his own.

"Are you a goddamn idiot!?"

Makoto's bark was just loud enough to set off the mics used to televise everything. The Ultimate Despairs cover their ears as the frequency hurts their hearing. The sound disappears and Junko looks up in disbelief.

"Uh? Huh? Excuse me?" Junko asked as Makoto personality instantly changed. Changed gone was his warm, kind, and hopeful smile, replace with a wise smile that held a certain viciousness.

It could only be described as the smile of a dragon.

"I believe you heard my question. You're probably asked that alot …" Makoto opened his eyes, gone was the desaturated hazel … replaced by sapphire gems that glowed the same way a crocodile's did. "… Little. Miss. Thing."

Everyone was stunned. Not once had he ever spoken like this. It was as if he had instantly turned into different person. His smile was real, but it was different, throwing off all kinds of emotions. Sayaka gulped and asked, "M-Makoto?"

"Wha …? What's going on with him?" Kyōsuke asked. He no long felt safe in Makoto's presence and the sudden change in personality made Kyōsuke suddenly feel like was on the losing team.

"You know, I find it very interesting when people think they've won when, in retrospect, they have actually lost more ways than one." Makoto said calmly, his smile still calm and solid.

"What? What nonsense are you saying now?" Byakuya demanded.

"Is your hope trying to shine even more?" Nagito asked.

"What …? What are you saying, Makoto?" Kaede asked. However, Makoto ignored them and continued to stare straight at Junko, making the true Ultimate Despair gulp.

"Hope," he began, "by definition, is an optimistic state of mind that is based on an expectation of positive outcomes with respect to events and circumstances in one's life or the world at large. As a verb, its definitions include: 'expect with confidence' and 'to cherish a desire with anticipation.' It's not peace, tranquility, or boredom as you come to believe and the fact you that is the true definition of Hope makes you a complete fool, Little Miss Thing."

"Oooh, really!?" Junko growled, her anger growing with every 'Little Miss Thing' Makoto said. "You seem confident about that! And… what's with the Little Miss Thing, huh!?"

"Of course I'm confident about that," he replied, his smile making Junko's crawl on her back. "Also, you ask that question as if I should have some form of respect for you. Sorry to break this to you, but if you choose to behave like a child, you will be treated as such, Little Miss Thing. Out of everyone here, I see it more reasonable to treat Miss Utsugi with more respect. She seems to be the only mature one here."

"HEY! W-Wait, really?" Kotoko said. Makoto chuckled, "Let's address the elephant in the room shall we? You believe you are victorious because you think you have power over me. If you kill me, you think I will fall into despair.

"If you let me live, you'd keep me in a state of constant Despair as your little pet. But, unfortunately, you fail to realize that even if my situation is hopeless … I will never break. You can go ahead and turn me into your trophy. I will never fall into boring Despair and, eventually, I will find a way to break out and start an uprising against Despair. You could always save yourself the trouble and kill me, however, I know how your twisted little mind works, Little Miss Thing.

"You won't kill me unless you know for 100% certainty that I will die in the depths of despair, too. But I won't. I will die with this ever friendly smile upon face, to both mock you and greet Death as a friend to be cherished." It was starting to sink in how terrifying Makoto actually was. This boy, THIS boy was actually claiming with absolute honesty that he was not afraid to die.

Even Junko was growing into her fear as she realized that Makoto was reversing the table into his favor. What's worse was that the whole world was still watching and Makoto's speech, no matter how sharp tongued, was mostly certainly reigniting the fires of Hope. She had to put them back out! Now!

"Really now?" She growled in determination. "You're sure about that? Because something is telling me your bluffing. Look around you!

"Everyone else has given up or joined my side! Where do you see hope in all of this, huh!?"

"The same way I see air, water, earth, and fire," he answered. "Water always puts out Fire unless it placed into a pot and set over the Fire to be turned to steam. A mountain of Earth stands strong against the Air of wind, yet the Air can still carve the Earth into beauties of nature. Darkness cannot exist without Light, Good cannot exist without Evil, and, of course, there is no such as Despair without Hope to exist. That's just balance and the Law of Opposition.

"No matter what you believe, whether I live or die, I still get the last laugh. Or have you forgotten the cameras are still rolling and my speech is most likely inciting hope to rekindle in the hearts of millions around the world." Junko's eye went wide in shock. Jūzō spoke first and said, "… Shit, the kid is tough to bring down."

"This … This is simply impossible," Sōshun said. "How can he talk like this so easily?"

"Chihiro …!" Junko ordered her silent demand. Chihiro reached for his tech only find all of it missing. Confused, he continued to look around only to hear Makoto speak, "Looking for this?" Everyone looked at Makoto who held up a pillowcase before throwing it down on the ground, the sound of all kinds of tech breaking.

Makoto's smile remained, still as real as before, was absolutely terrifying. Even Junko is shaken up.

"Mom warned me about this," he turned to his little sister. "Before middle school, you were never considered … normal. Your IQ is actually so high, it was at a superhuman level, surpassing even Junko's. And, despite your average appearance, your presence was reminiscent to that of a dragon. Even your smile is unsettling because, though it was a real smile, it always holds more meanings than one.

"And the smile is never fake. This made the other kids - and adults - afraid of you and regard you as 'the Dragon King', because your smile and presence is like that of a mighty dragon. Your also extremely mature for his age." Makoto grin grew, meaning he was feeling very superior.

"Wha …!? What the fuck are you talking about!?" Junko demanded.

"It doesn't really matter what my little sister means," said the Dragon King. "All that matters is that whether I live or die, I win. And no matter what happens I will never fall into Despair. And that is my answer that stupid series of questions and threats that came from that foolish mouth of yours. Do you understand now …? Little … Miss … Thing."

Junko was at an utter loss for words. Makoto was right. No matter how she looked at, he won. Makoto Naegi stands the victor. Junko fell to her knees in a state of devastated disbelief, silence taking over her.

"This … This is really impressive." Chisa said before purring, "As expected from my favorite student!"

"Wow, man," said Mondo, who was shocked as everyone else, "gotta hand it to ya, ya really know how to talk."

"Hell yeah!" Kaito said. "You look so tough right now!"

"Upu … Upupu …! UPUPUPUPU!" She howled. "You knew, didn't you!? You knew everything about my plans!

"Everything! You knew what I was about to do since the very moment we met, huh!?" Makoto simply continued to smile.

"Why ask questions you already know the answer to?" Makoto asked. "Of course I did. I'm not stupid." Everyone stared at Makoto in shock.

"Hold on, if you knew about this, then …?" Shūichi wondered.

"Why didn't you do anything?" Izuru continued. "That is not logical at all. Unless …?"

"Big brother," Makoto smiled, "if my personality is similar to that of the personalities of dragons, should it not stand to reason that I'm just as Lazy as a dragon, too?"

"What!?" Nekomaru yelled. "You knew, but did nothing because you were LAZY!?"

"Hey, that's dirty, you little asshole!" Jūzō scolded.

"You could have done something, too." Makoto rebutted lazily. "But, you chose not to because you were afraid of Kyōsuke finding out about your yaoi crush on him. Don't just dump all the blame on me. Grow a pair."

"Fuck you, kid …!" Jūzō yelled. In response, Chisa growled, "Jūzō …"

"What about that title of yours, then?" Junko said, switching to her sinister persona. "Don't you care about being the so-called Ultimate Hope?"

"I never once consider myself the Ultimate Hope." Makoto continued, "Those were you words, not mine. Hope is such an unpredictable thing, like a cat and mouse. Sometimes, the cat catches the mouse and sometimes it does. Despair is like a puddle of water on the street. Stale, stagnant, boring.

"But I understand that life cannot exist without both so choosing between them is pointless. Choice itself, on the other? Now that's I'd side with. My indomitable will is the reason your brainwashing video has no power over me. I choose to resist.

"That … is free will and what makes me …"

Makoto Naegi

.

Ultimate Free Spirit

.

.

"A… A free spirit?"

"Fufufu… ! As expected from my familiar." Gundham proclaimed. "You finally decided to show your true power level!" Makoto grin became cruel as he narrowed his eyes at Gundham, like a savage snake that found a mouse.

"Oh, poor Gundham," he said with a predatory grin worthy of the Dragon King title. "A Familiar is equivalent to that of a tamed beast and, as you have just witnessed, I cannot be tamed."

"M-Makoto …" Sonia whimpered, "th-there's no need to behave like this. P-Please, can we talk this out?" Suddenly, the aura around Makoto became suffocatingly sadistic.

"My, is that fear I smell?" Makoto purred as he pulled from his jacket … a chain whip. The weapon functioned as a chain whip that can attach and detach blades.

"O-Oi, what the fuck do you think you're doing!?" Fuyuhiko backed away, now fully afraid of the one they call the dragon.

"D-Don't play with that," Maki cried out. "That kind of thing is dangerous."

"What, this little thing?" Before Fuyuhiko could even dodge, Makoto quickly twirled chain dart and grazed the Yakuza's bicep. Makoto stood there, smiling like a dangerous dragon prepared to dig in. This … was going to be fun for him.

"Wh-What are you doing!?" Peko yelled at Makoto.

"You-You dare attack your friends!?" Tenko asked.

"You … are not my friends," the former Lucky Student growled, his sadistic smile still venomously sitting across his face. He continued to twirl his dart "The REAL Tenko Chabashira fought for Justice, not Despair. The REAL Fuyuhiko Kuzuryū was a gangster who was a Good Man, not a bad one. The REAL Sonia Nevermind was deeply loyal to her country, not oppressively tyrannical. What happened to the REAL Jūzō Sakakura who was fearless in the face of some blonde bimbo.

"What happened to the REAL Sayaka Maizono who wanted to give people strength. What happened to the REAL Mukuro Ikusaba who was gentle and kind. They're all gone and all that seems to remain are useless dolls and puppets for Little Miss Thing."

"Wha…!? What are you saying?" Tenko said as she began to back away in fear, her TRUE self now trying to fight back against the brainwash of Despair. Fuyuhiko gulped he said, "… Fuuu…"

"M-Makoto…" Sonia begged, "p-please…"

"Give me a damn break already," the Boxer said, looking down in shame.

"B-But … I…" Sayaka stuttered, trying to wake up, "my dreams…"

"M-Makoto … why?" Mukuro begged, starting to cry.

"You always did consider yourself a goddess, didn't you Little Miss Thing?" Makoto directed his question to a scared Junko, his smile filled with sadistic fury. "And that's were you and I differ. Everyone considers me to be a dragon and Dragons, since the dawn of time, have never once bowed before gods. They mock the gods before roasting them alive and feasting upon their flesh.

"I'm not afraid to die, but refuse go down without get a few swings in. Now…! LET'S GET BUSY!" Makoto rushed over to Gozu and slammed his fist into the side of the wrestler's head, breaking his mask. Everything turned to slow motion as Gozu watch Makoto stare into his soul with a hungry smirk as the Great Gozu is promptly sent flying into the elevator of the basement. Makoto finished his moveset, smiling in an T-pose.

"Wh-What is this!?" Sakura flinched in surprise.

"H-Holy shit!" Akane cried.

"H-How is this possible!?" Nekomaru cried, getting ready for a fight he didn't want.

"G-Gonta don't like this anymore!" Makoto, wielding his chain dart, sent Gonta's large frame slamming into a wall on his left, before he executed a capoeira-style meia lua de compasso kick as he sliced Akane at the waist. Using the momentum to spin in the air, he turned to Sakura behind him, push kicked her into the wall, while using the recoil to observe his surroundings.

"S-Sakura-chan! M-Makoto, please-" Aoi's words fell short as the chain dart wrapped tightly around her throat and Makoto twirled the Swimmer at Tenko, Takumi, Jūzō, and Satō, knocking all of them at Gonta who was originally trying to get back up before being slammed into the wall once again.

"Bloody hell!" Mondo yelled out as the basement erupted in chaos. "We're gonna die, aren't we?"

"That's it! I'm outta here!" Hiro said as he tried to run away. Unfortunately…

"Oh, no you don't." Makoto's chain dart snaked around his throat, pulling the Clairvoyant towards him. With a vicious grin and sapphire eyes the glowed darkly, Makoto began to punch Hiro in the face with draconic glee. After he was finished, Hiro fell to the floor, alive albeit barely.

"Man, stop!" Kaito begged as Makoto took a crouching position, ready to pounce.

"Classmate Naegi, that is more than enough!" Taka tried to encourage.

"Aw, what's the matter, Momota, Ishimura?" Makoto gave a venomous purr. "Don't tell me you're afraid. I thought Ultimate Despair thought of fear as a form of pleasure. Is the animal parts of your brain finally kicking back in?"

'It's official,' Junko thought. 'This guy defies despair and embodies nightmares.' Makoto watched everyone, including the ones still trying to rise up from the pain Makoto had been inflicting on them.

"I told you, if you're going to kill me, I want to die fighting!" Makoto smiled. "Because that what the Ultimate Free Spirit does. Fight to for the right to be free. That's what make free will strong than Hope and Despair.

"Because it's wild and free."

"Wild.. and free?" Angie asked.
"Should I feel honored or … terrified to see this?" Korekiyo asked himself as Makoto raised his whip.

"I-I don't know, but this is going too far!" Hiyoko said. "Makoto, stop whatever you're doing!"

"And killing millions isn't, Hiyoko Dear?" Makoto said, his aura like that of hellfire. "It is as the old saying goes. You reap what you've sewn." Makoto glared at Junko, prepared to strike.

"This is for the innocents you all have killed … the lives you all have reduced to ruin, and this … is for betraying yourselves!"

"Oh no! He's coming!" Mahiru cried out.

"M-Makoto, please!" Chihiro begged as he fell on his butt.

"Winter is coming…!" Bandai gulped.

"EVERYONE, BRACE FOR IMPACT!" Byakuya cried. Makoto twirled his whip to the air and was about to strike Junko…

.

BZZT!

.

Makoto blinked and cracked the whip back behind him, nearly nipping Junko's nose. He looked to the center of the room as he asked, "Did anyone else hear that?"

.

FWOOM!

.

A bright light explode from the center of the room, winds blowing about the room like a vortex. Everyone but Makoto erupted into a panic as the air thrashed violently about.

"KYAAAA! The apocalypse is happening!" Hifumi cried out in terror was the swirling gales blasted everyone's faces.

"Hey, I just conquered this world! What now!?" Kokichi demanded.

"Nii-chan…!" Komaru cried out. "What did you do!?" Makoto looked at Komaru with a blank expression as he calmly replied, "Me!? How could I possibly make an explainable vortex of light appear out of nowhere!?" He turned his attention back to the vortex and stared at it blankly as the wind whipped around him. Suddenly, a familiar smile was drawn across his lips, a smile everyone recognized as the universal sign of mischief that said he was going to touch it.

"Oh fucking Christ," said the Mechanic as Makoto began to walk closer, "don't you even dare!"

"I fail to see how you could possibly stop me, Kazuichi!" Makoto giggled. Everyone began to beg Makoto to stop as the Lucky Student walked towards the mysterious void of light. Junko, on the other hand, simply sat there, dumbfounded by the series of events moving too, fast too. She stared at the boy who was possibly smiling at a possible face of death, defying hope, defying despair.

Ever since she first met Makoto Naegi, she could read him. He was always unpredictable. Always smiling with that Hope filled grin and optimistic attitude. And he still was surprising her with this new personality. His TRUE personality.

"You know, it's funny," she said. "I love and hate you at the same time." Makoto stopped, his interest peaked by her words. He turned his head back to stare at the Queen of Despair with a unreadable, blank face. "I thought … I thought you were my opposite.

"My equal. But … you say you don't care about hope or despair. What am I supposed to think of you now…? Except … I just can't help it. I love you, but at the same time, I hate you for who you are…

"What am I supposed to do? I brought this world to its knees … and now … now I don't feel … anything." Junko looked up with a glaring smile of despair and said, "What you did to me, Makoto. It's just … It's just plain unforgivable." Makoto continued to stare at her with an absolutely empty look.

"Heh," was the sound that finally came from his throat. "Ha… Hehe… HAHAHAHAHAHA…!" Junko stared in disbelief as Makoto … laughed at her. At the situation. His laughter echoing so loud, it was louder the vicious winds of the anomaly.

"Wh-Why are you laughing!?" Kyōko yelled.

"Th-This isn't funny, you know!" Mahiru agreed.

"Oh no," Junko's eye became like beads. "Don't you dare speak. Don't tell me you thought about an answer already!" But Makoto stretched out his arms and proclaimed, "How interesting! Very amusing indeed!"

With glee, he marched towards Junko and inched his face closer to hers with a wild grin to make all dragons proud. "You are actually afraid of the unknown! Am I right?" Junko's eyes went wide. "Well, isn't that ironic.

"Does that mean your Despair, your world of Despair is … boring? Because that's the vibes I've been getting from you. You don't know anything about unpredictability. None of you do. I think your way of thinking is interesting because of how … contradictory it is.

"Does this mean that all of this time … you live in fear? Is this why you did what you did? To live in the only thing you know? Teehee! Well, isn't that just a boring way to live.

"However, you have managed to somewhat recaptured my interest with that proclaim of yours. You hate AND love me, eh? Because you thought I was your equal? Your opposite? Well then..." Makoto used a finger to force Junko to fully look him the eyes.

Those terrifying sapphire blue of wild freedom. "Let's you and I have one last dance." Makoto sensually dragged his index along Junko's jaw, arousing her momentarily before she snapped out of it and remembered what he said.

"Wh-What?" Junko said as Makoto walked back to the light. With a grin, Makoto turned back around to look at Junko.

"This thing is obviously a portal. You and I can both tell with our analytical abilities. However, like you, I don't know who opened it or where it lead. All I know is that I won against you, you had yet to make any form of decision on what to do with, and now my curiosity has been captured. You don't want me going in for two reasons.

"Number one, the portal is small and unstable, only allowing passage a living vessel of one, things like Keebo and Monokuma notwithstanding. No offense, Keebo."

[U-Um, none taken?] Keebo replied.
"And B, if I were to simply jump in, you are most certainly going to give chase, being, hypocritically, the sore loser you are. However, that means facing your fear of the unknown. So, here's the deal, darling," he said the last word seductively. "I'm going in anyway and I want you to come and find me. And this time … I'll chose the last game.

"Win and I will surrender to you and you can do whatever you Ultimate Despairs wish of me. Kill me, rape me - my life and freedom will belong everyone in this room." If the gasps were any indication, that offer appealed to everyone in the room, including those who weren't brainwashed and especially the girls. Mukuro instantly got a nosebleed as she asked, "… R-Really?"

"Anything … we want?" Miu was no better.

"Does that mean … you…" Kaede interrupted Mikan's gigglely pervy thought as she tried to dissuade Makoto.

"No…! Makoto, no…!"

"Junko, you've GOT to accept!" Chisa cried. "This is a chance of a lifetime!"

"So… you will belong to me then?" Himiko said hungrily.

"W-Well, I suppose I cannot argue with that." Tenko blushed.

"I-I knew you wouldn't betray me like that." Chihiro giggled deviously.

"As expected from my only B-class." Celes giggled

"Well, that sure is tempting…!" Kotomi giggled. Natsumi drooled, "Yup. But I call dibs on him."

"Are you kidding!?" Sayaka hissed. "It's going to be me in first!"

"K-Keep in dreaming!" Tōko yelled. "M-Makoto-sama is mine!"

"Will you all stop!? Kotoko exclaimed. "You all look like teenagers girls in front of a group idol!"

"Alright, alright, calm down, girls…!" Junko turned back to Makoto. "And what if you win?" Makoto smiled his dragon-like grin.

"Your undying fidelity," he said. "Everyone here, no matter their age or species, will live their lives for my sake, for the rest of all Infinity." That was actually enough to send chills down everyone's spines. Servitude for all Infinity.

"Are you serious!?" Junko exclaimed.

"That my deal, Little Miss Thing. You can take it or leave it." Makoto smiled. "Either way, I'm going in!"

"And what would happen to us?" Kyōsuke asked, almost begging him not to leave him with the Ultimate Despairs. But Makoto didn't miss a beat.

"You guys chose your side with Junko instead of standing up for yourselves," he replied. "You got yourselves into that mess, get yourselves out."

"Wow," said Takumi said. "Talk about harsh!" A lot of the Ultimate Despairs found themselves wishing to have the fake Makoto back. This guy was a blunt asshole.

[D-Does this means that…] Miaya gulped, [we will also be under your reign?]

"If I win, then yes!" Makoto said. "The Infinite Universes are filled with endless possibilities! Who knows what could happen!"

"Considering my position, I don't mind." Kirumi said, blushing as her mind thought of all the things her master would do to her.

"This … This just isn't right." Satō said.

"Unacceptable," said Sakura. "The Makoto we know wouldn't do that!"

"The Makoto you knew was a false persona I created in order to Make friends," he retaliated with a bored smile. "That persona only existed to help me make friends and you killed. Don't blame me for destroy that persona you all love so much. Besides, if you all met me with my real personilty, can actually tell you wouldn't be to afraid to even talk to me, let alone befriend me?"

"W-We would have at least tried." Mahiru stuttered.

"Y-Yeah, we definitely would have." Ibuki agreed. Makoto chuckled and replied, "You practically just confessed that you prefer my fake persona over my true personality. Maybe you guys really are Ultimate Despairs. Your lies are just as boring as despair itself.

"However, we aren't talking who I really am. We're discussing the wagers for our game."

"I don't fucking like this at all." Kazuichi whimpered.

"Me neither. It's… It's really scary." Teru gulped.

"Well, that does make sense. You have all been tainted by 'Despair' and, as a result, have become afraid of the unknown. But I'm not. I look forward to not knowing what the future holds. Because I live life by my own rules and for reality to except my rules. That's why I have never onced Hoped for a good future … because my future is already mine."

"You … never hoped?" Angie asked.

"B-But … if you hate both Hope and despair… " said Makoto's senior Lucky Student, "then what did you rely on all this time!?"

"As much as love to keep talking, allow me to let you know that I know when people are trying to stall me." Makoto directed his gaze at Junko and said, "You win, I'm all yours. I win, you're all mine. That is my wager. You have ten seconds to decide, Little Miss Thing. 10… !"

The Ultimate despair began to panic as Makoto started counting down. So, this was it, huh? Now he was just time-limiting her to choose!? What an asshole!

"9… !"

She knew she had to decide. But it was too quick!

"8… !"

On one side, if she lost, she would have to serve that prick she had a crush on. That she loved and hated. Why was life so unfair!?

"7… !"

But … on the other hand … if SHE wins … he belongs to her. She could do whatever she wanted with him. And she could make him love every second of it.

"6…!"

One had the control of the other. It was as simple as that. And... she was tempted.

"5…!"

When she thought about it, either way, she was the one who would win. On one hand, she would control him, but on the other, he would be the one in charge.

"4…!"

So… she made her decision.

"Alright, Makoto," Junko said. "Let's get this over with! It's a deal!" Makoto grinned and shoved his hand into the vortex, causing an explosion of bright light. After five minutes, the light slowly died down and all but Makoto remained in the room.

The game had begun. Everyone stared at the spot Makoto once stood in shock. Then, Junko giggled, "Well, this is going to be a challenge. But it wouldn't be fun otherwise, right?"

"J-Junko," her sister growled, "what have you done!?"

"D-Do…! Do you think this is a game!?" Chiaki asked.

"You-You can't win against Makoto in this state! You just can't!" Kaede asked.

"My, my…" Chisa sighed. "This is quite a troublesome situation we got ourselves into."

"So? What do we do now?" Kotomi looked at Junko who grinned.

.

"We prepare."

Prologue

Beware the Sleeping Dragon

.

.

Makoto woke up in a forest like area. Birds sing and trees dance gently in the wind. Makoto could hear water trickling in the near distance.

"I did it," he said to his self quietly as layed on the ground looking at the sky. "Heh… Ha… Hehe… Hahahahahaha…! It's really peaceful here. Finally… I can relax a-" His thoughts were cut off as he felt something gently wagging in between his legs. Makoto calmly looked down to see something that would usually freak any other person out. Lying between his connect to HIS butt … was a tail. It was navy blue in color and scalely. It almost looked like -

"A dragon's tail?" He sat up and felt the tail follow his example, wagging shamelessly with as much curiosity as Makoto. He began poking the tail, feeling the tail being poked. "Since when have I had a tail?" Makoto tilted his head, finally, Makoto noticed that his vision was as weird as him having a tail.

He looked as if he was looking at an MMORPG screen from his favorite game, Grand Fantasy Epic. It was an amazing MMORPG that a plethora of different races you could choose for your avatar. Because people always called him a dragon, that was race Makoto chose when he played.

'Hold on,' he thought before mentally focusing on status. It open and, sure enough, Makoto's avatar was right their. It looked like him for the most part. He is notably shorter than most people. He has spiky, navy blue hair with a prominent ahoge, and sapphire eyes.

Makoto wore a navy blue, white lined haori, along with slightly shorter than normal, light-colored hakama. Underneath his haori, he wore a navy blue shirt. He had long sleeves that cover her arms and gave his hand the appearance of large, monsterous, claw-like hands. A tiny crown laid latched upon the rear right side of his hair. He, of course, also had a navy blue dragon tail as well as four, white, dragon horns.

Makoto looked up and down at his own, seeing it matched the appearance of his avatar.

"Well… this is unexpected," he said. "But I could find a way to enjoy this." Makoto smiled his usual smile before his eyes fell upon his stats.

"Whoa! I still keep my title? Cool! I thought I would be turn into a weakling. Neat!" Makoto blinked as he thought of something. If he had the form of his GFE avatar, does that mean he also had his avatar's power's and abilities as well?

"Only one way to find out out!" Makoto stretched out right and called out -

.

"{Dragon Mode}!"

.

Makoto's body began to glow as he turned into a large, navy blue Western Dragon, with a long neck and sapphire blue eyes. He also has white and silver spikes throughout his body. From Makoto's estimate he was about 369 feet tall. Basically, he was tall enough to slightly tower over the trees.

'Well shit,' he said as he looked down. 'Didn't expect that to happen.'

"Ow!"

Makoto was suddenly alert, looking left and right the source of the distress call.

"Ouch!" The childish voice called. "Please stop moving so violently! Your massive frame is bending all the trees in the area and it hurts!" Makoto looked in the direction of a tree that appeared to be the tallest in the area.

It was a fraxinus - or ash - tree that was about at least 246 feet tall. Makoto moved only his and noticed the rest of the forest of trees was about 222 feet at the tallest. Makoto quickly return to his {Humanoid Form} and flew off to the Fraxinus tree. Flying lower into the forest, he gently landed at the base of the tree which surrounded by a small, naturaly made moat.

'Cool, I can fly without my {Dragon mode},' he thought before looking across to the Fraxinus. Sitting on her knees was a little girl around 12 to 13 years old with long green hair that touch her feet, and also bare, light green skin. Her private areas were covered by small patches of leaves.

"Huh, a loli dryad." Makoto stated emotionlessly as he examined the dryad's stats.

'Well … this is strange,' he thought. 'Guess it's worth talking with her.'

"Excuse me?" Makoto called to the dryad. "Are you one I accidentally hurt?" Still rubbing parts of her body in pain, Yggdra looked up and blinked her eyes wide. She was suddenly in Makoto's space, circling him and examining him like a vulture, making him sweatdrop.

She then embraced him with a smile and chirped, "Be mine forever, Dragon!"

'I could be wrong, but this loli dryad who looks no older than twelve propose to me!?'

"Huh?" Makoto blinked before he gently pushed Yggdra back and raising his hand into the universal sign for stop. "I'm flattered, but if you want to propose, you're going to have to wait at least three to four more years." The innocent and naïve dryad simply smiled.

"I'm starving!" Yggdra replied, everything Makoto said going in one ear and out the other. "I want some food." To this response, Makoto made a sweatdrop and deadpanned at the Dryad with disbelief. It was like talking to a kid.

"Well, I'm sorry, however I don't have any food on me."

"Not human food! I want mana! Right now!" How can she demand such a thing with such a childish smile.

'She's kidding, right?' Makoto thought. "Sorry, but I need the mana for myself." Unfortunately, again - in one ear, out the other. The dryad embraced Makoto's face with both hands.

"It only hurts for a little bit," she urged. "You'll feel much better after, I swear!" She pulled his face down to her and…

.

Chulp!

.

… Makoto's … his first kiss … stolen by an 'underaged' dryad. He felt some kind of energy leaving from his body through his lips. A small little sprout grew from the bottom of her hair after she was done.

"I feel better!" Yggdra cheared as Makoto got an update.

'That wasn't your fault, Makoto,' said Dragon with a unwavering, real smile as he covered his vandalized lips in shame. 'I don't want that title. Take it back, please!'

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Dragon!" Makoto looked to see the Dryad now laying on her back with an innocent and naïve smile. "My names Yggdra. I'm a high-tier dryad and spirit of this forest around you!" After a strange wave ran through Makoto and calmed, he smiled and said, "Well, nice to meet you, I suppose. I'm Makoto Naegi, by the way."

"Makoto?" Yggdra asked. "Does that mean you're from the Zingoku Union?"

"Wait, the what Union?" Makoto blinked with a confused smile. "I'm sorry, but if I don't know what it is, then I doubt I'm a part of it." Yggdra giggled at his response.

"You're not from around here, huh?" She asked.

"You've got that right," he said. "I'm not even from this world, to tell you the truth. So I could use some guidance here-" Makoto didn't finish as Yggdra flew up to Makoto's face stars in her big, green eyes.

"YOU'RE AN OTHERWORLDER!?" Yggdra squealed excitedly. "That's amazing! Tell me about your world! Please, please, pretty please!" Makoto laughed at the childish dryad's energy and said, "You really are a curious one, aren't you? I like that. However, I do have a few questions of my own, like could you explain the world I'm in? Tell me about it's culture and stuff like that?"

"Sorry, but to be honest, I don't know much about to world either. Only what I hear in this patch of land once in a while."

"Alright, so I'm on my own, huh? Guess it's my lucky day."

"Not true! If you want, you can feel free to live here in my forest! Just please don't take your real form. You almost crushed me trees last time. Any pain the forest feels, I feel." The fact she can talk like that with such childish glee sort of bewildered the Dragon.

Of course, his honest smile refused to show it.

"Oh, I can do that! I was just testing my powers, is all!" Makoto replied politely.

"Anyway, I don't really have much of a place for you to sleep, but there is a cave in that mountain." Yggdra pointed skyward and Makoto looked up to finally take notice that this forest sat at the base of a mountain which stood at about 5,725 feet according to his analysis. Taller than Makoto basically. Makoto smiled and said, "Thank you, Yggdra. You really seem to be looking out for me, even after the mess up I did. My apologies again."

"Try not to sweat the small stuff!" Yggdra chirped from laying position. "Just give me some more mana once in awhile and mi casa, su casa!"

'This girl is definitely the Landlady of this place, huh?' Makoto thought as he looked at the smiling face of Yggdra.

Night had finally set across the land as Makoto watched the stars from his new cave home. It was much, but as a newly reincarnated dragon god, their were worse places to sleep. Makoto looked down at Yggdra's forest, approximately 14604.8 acres of leafy green. Apparently, Yggdra stared out as a simple Dryad stuck to one tree until, somehow, her mana connect to the rest of the trees in the area. Makoto looked back up to the stars and began to think about the Ultimate Despairs.

'Heh. They call themselves Ultimate Despair… What a joke.' Makoto giggled to himself. 'They don't even know what despair is. Junko proved that all alone.'

He looked up to the stars once more. Every one as gorgeous as previous diamonds. He could see the Galaxy, causing the sky to take a gorgeous dark blue. It was far more gorgeous than what his he was used back in Japan. But that's was even before the Tragedy.

"That's a heck of a sight," he said. "I don't think I remember something like that even before the Tragedy. And to think Junko masked the sky… Heh. She doesn't know what she's missing. Even if it's not as beautiful, everyone should be able to look at the sky."

Suddenly, Makoto smile dropped as his nose picked up an interesting scent. Curious, his nose was never this…

"Ooh … right… Forgot I had superhuman animals like senses now," he said too himself. "Well, guess that's what you get when you become a dragon." Makoto sniffed the air again. Sulfur… ?

No, it was smoke. Also, there was something that smelled like iron. Wait. Iron? That's not right … unless…

Makoto's smile returned as his body knew no other expression. Iron was the scent of blood. Makoto knew that, unfortunately. The world Ultimate Despair created would never permit him to forget. And when smoke and blood were together, that was never a good sign.

Makoto looked down at his dragonoid hand and clenched it, his smile growing fiercer. Makoto looked up with a smile as a thought crossed his mind.
