My first Tyki fic. I didn't like Tyki this much before, I guess reading fics like The Apostle, Smirking Shadow, etc really influenced me (those fics are amazing). Now Tyki's one of my fave char.
Please read and review :)
Disclaimer: As usual, I still don't own D Gray-Man.
A Mix of Black and White
Tyki Mikk was first and foremost a human before a Noah. An orphan working and wondering together with people whom he considered as family. His family before the Noah Clan.
Tyki has two sides which he would turn to and fro. The man loved them both dearly—his black and white side. He wanted to take care of his normal human friends and enjoy a regular life in his white side. He wanted to protect and be present for his kin in his black side. Hence Tyki decided to have them all by standing on the blurry line between black and white.
Both lives have their ups and downs all the time. When in his Noah form he would have to act as a high class noble born and wear that heat-trapping suit. But he found pleasure in the killings he had committed. Whilst in his white form no one could predict what would happen next, but his friends and Eaze made it worthwhile. Plus, there was Allen Walker—the boy who had attracted Road's attention and his too.
"If I bet this coat for all of my friend's clothes, will you have a match with me?"
Tyki smirked as he recalled the event on the trainride. "It would have been better if I had refused you, boy." he mused outloud.
"Please make sure you've washed them properly."
The result was humiliating. He and his boys (except for Eaze of course) were suckered and stripped down to their boxers. The simple game of poker became a desperate match to retain their dignity. And boxers.
Allen Walker—the white haired boy with a pentacle scar on his face. The boy was damn too intriguing to be left alone. Who would've guessed that the boy was such an incredible card shark? Allen Walker was the perfect devil in disguise with the posh language and mannerism and all... Not to mention that blinding innocent smile.
Heh, the boy played the black and white sides even better than him (and he thought he was good... the world sure was a big place). Maybe he ought to learn a thing or two from the boy; like how he managed his personality that way. That and the extraordinary cheating skills.
Tyki concluded that Allen Walker was grayer than him. He was unable to comprehend how the young boy turned that way. Even when part of the mystery was revealed through Jasdevi's rants concerning General Cross Marian, the boy was still a growing enigma to him. It was hard to not like the boy—Allen Walker was irresistible.
Wait... Did I just think of that? Aw great, now I sound like a friggin' pedophile.
Tyki grimaced sourly and brought a hand up to rake his midnight curls, that same hand which had gripped the boy's beating heart. Honestly, Tyki couldn't say he wasn't the least bit glad when the boy survived. He cared for the boy even though it went against everything a Noah was. And it seemed the boy reciprocated it.
Boy, we're way too similar that it creeps me out.
