A childs rescue
Vivian was one of the children Sam and Cat loved to babysit. She was a shy girl but very friendly and was excellent at the mandolin. Long ago she had a normal family but then her dad died, for a while she was alone with a loving mother. Then a stepfather came in who seemed to despise her, and when her mother died to her life turned around.
As usual she came to Sam and Cat 's house after school but something was different, she was sobbing, and had bruises on her arm. Sam and Cat put some ointment on it thinking she just fell and had a bad day. They had never met her step dad so they didn't think anything was wrong, but that was far from true. Every day when he got home Vivian was beaten, shoved, kicked, forced to do all the chores and sleep in the attic with rats.
That morning Vivian's father yelled at her as she did her morning chores telling her she was a horrible kid and didn't deserve to live and that she shouldn't have been born. After beating her with his belt she was on the bus. Every day was the same and she went to Sam and Cat after school as usual but didn't dare tell the truth in fear of being hit by her step father.
As the weeks past Sam and Cat got more suspicious. Each day she had come with a new injury and was looking skinnier than ever . Moday, a huge red spot and cut on her leg, Tuesday, she was sick as a dog, Wednesday, she had a bleeding ear, Thursday, her nose had blood, and Friday a black eye. When they asked her she just said " I fell" or I bumped into something, but they knew that was far from true. They were thinking a school bully until her dad came to pick her up. Earlier that day he yelled at her saying this was the last day with Sam and Cat. He lied to the girls saying " I moved my job schedule, so we don't need babysitters anymore." As he gave the check Sam noticed something else as Vivian's face gave them the " help me" look.
It dawned on Cat that her step dad was abusing her. Sam figured that she couldn't tell them for her safety so they needed to catch him on tape. So they asked Dice for a video camera and went to her house. The plan was they were gonna go disguised as ceiling inspectors but pretend to hate kids however the camera was gonna be in their hats recording everything.
Meanwhile Vivian was getting her drinking bleach treatment and her father was beating her with a bat on her back and a belt on her face. Vivian was so loopy that everything in the room was blurry and her speech was slurred. She was sparred when the doorbell rang. Instructed to stay in the attic she just stayed on the floor, piled In a heap, but she was close enough to the platform where she slept and was able to scoot under it.
Since they told him they hate kids, he wasn't afraid to show them around, but would not let Vivian out of the attic, and even if she were, she could barely move now. When their " ceiling inspection was complete" they also caught blood on his belt, recorded Vivian's moans, and blood on the wall. Then just as they walked out the door they got the final recording,him yelling at Vivan and giving her one last smack.
A police officer was there in an instant to take him away. While Sam was giving more detail about Vivian Cat went to get Vivian from the attic. She found her under her platform, barely conscious and talking slurred speech. " Shh" cat said, " your safe now, he's gone, he can't hurt you anymore". Vivian spent 5 weeks in the hospital recovering, but she returned good as new. Then Sam and Cat heard excellent news. Dice's family had adopted her!. She was now safe and also had a big brother.
