Wrong Wish

"I gave you what you need." Castiel's voice rang through Dean's body, anger without the harsh tone.
Fury.
"What are you talking about?"
"I warned you, Dean, if you don't stop your brother we are going to have to."
"What the hell do you want me to do? I'm not going to kill him. Sam isn't a damn demon. He has demon blood running through him, fine, whatever…he was too damn innocent to even wish for his life back, do you get that? Any other person on the planet, they would have wished for that life. Sam didn't wish for anything."
"I told you to save your brother. You had a chance Dean, one wish and you could have stopped it all. You could have saved him from his destiny."
"You wanted me to wish my brother into something else?"
"No, I didn't want you to do anything Dean. You wanted it, and I tried to facilitate it for you. I tried to help you save your brother, but you still weren't listening. You refuse to listen to me, and Sam is going to be the one who will pay and none of this is even his fault!"
"You're correct, this is not his fault."
"If I hadn't dragged him away from school, who knows, maybe none of this never would have happened."
"It wouldn't have."
"What?" The words shuddered through Dean's body.
"This isn't just a chance to save your brother, but yourself. If you hadn't changed the course of your brother's destiny none of this would have happened, Dean."
He never should have, he knew it, deep down. He knew he should have left his brother be.
"I can save him." Dean told him. "I will."
"I hope so. For both your sakes."
