"What are you so sad about?"
Zant looked up and stared at the empty sky. 'My god...he is calling me...' Zant thought. "It is nothing, god. I am not upset..." Zant replied, but that was a lie. He was upset. He was upset about everything SHE had said to him the last time they saw one another.
"Don't lie to me, Zant! I demand to know what is going on!"
Zant let out a sigh. 'I guess you can't trick gods after all...' he thought. Zant took a deep breath and replied, "It's...it's about the Twilight Princess, my lord..."
"HER AGAIN? DAMMIT, ZANT, HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU? FORGET HER! SHE DOESN'T LOVE YOU!"
'I wish that were true...' Zant thought sadly. As much as he hated to admit it, he knew that Midna loved him. They even dated briefly, but only broke up because of her parents' orders.
Yet, Zant himself wasn't sure if he even DESERVED to be with someone so beautiful and wonderful as the Twilight Princess anymore. "I know she doesn't love me, my lord, but I think I...I just might...love her..." Zant replied quietly, hoping that his God will show his rarely-seen side of mercy.
"...You're pathetic, Zant. I thought you wanted power. Isn't that why you turned the Twilight Princess into that ugly little beast? You need to know where your heart lies before making decisions, my boy..."
"I am pathetic..." Zant muttered, "I love her, I do, but how can I gain the love and trust from someone who I nearly killed and betrayed due to jealousy and anger? There is no way we can ever be in love again!"
"Heh heh heh...you got some major drama/angst going on, huh? I always think the world needs more of that kind of stuff, if you ask me..."
Suddenly, Zant had an idea. Zant looked up at the sky again and pleaded, "Oh, great dark god of mine, could you please...please make Midna love me again?" Silence...and then...
"Nope. I'm not a dark god of love, boy! I'm only out to take over what's mine, got it? If you have love problems, YOU deal with them!"
"SOME GOD YOU ARE!" Zant shouted furiously. However, his god was no longer listening at the moment, so Zant let out a sigh and walked over to get some comfort food...
Midna looked up at the sky and a faint blush formed on her cheeks. Link noticed this and asked, "What's wrong, Midna?"
Midna smiled to herself and thought, 'Zant...he's talking about me...' Link let out an annoyed groan and exclaimed, "You're not thinking about Zant again, are you? I thought he was the enemy! We don't love the evil guys!"
Midna used her living hair (?) to punch Link and replied, "Oh, shut it. I'm thinking about Zant right now!"
A/N: Have you ever noticed how alike Zant and Mikami Teru (from Death Note) are when it comes to their 'gods'?
Ex. 1) Both Zant and Mikami worship their gods (Zant to Ganondorf, Mikami to Kira/Light Yagami) all the time.
Ex. 2 ) They do all the dirty work for their so-called 'god'.
Ex. 3) They practically die for their 'god'.
Ex. 4) They both feel somewhat betrayed when they see how pathetic their 'god' really is.
