A Recaptured Tear
By Jade Uasko
Through the waves of time
They were once together,
But pulled apart by a great power.
Now they both live in two different worlds,
Only a wave from each other,
As the ocean once recalled.
Hair of blue and a heart of gold,
Memories of a time,
Now lost and left behind.
A girl of starry dreams,
Calls out his name,
A figure stands, waiting.
Wishing on a shooting star,
Pendent in hand, and a knife held to her side,
Tears of the past fall from her eyes.
As the wind blows the smell of the ocean,
She holds on to the memories
Of the man that once held her heart so dear.
Not realizing that he hears her cries
And stands so near,
With outstretch arms.
The sound of the water
The movements of the sand
The smell of roses and lavender fill the old rhythm of time.
She opens her eyes,
To the sound of a voice of a man,
The soft touch of fingertips along her shoulder,
Then it starts all over again,
As the sunsets in the horizon,
Two smiling faces fade into the sands of never ending time.
