Here's my take on that!
Intending it to be a longish fic but it's my first one!!!!Show some love?
Chapter 1: Calm after the storm
George woke up panting. His nightmares were always the same.Fred. It had been 4 years since Harry had won.The initial euphoria had subsided and after some episodes of insanity brought about by grief,he had settled into a normal life-as normal as anyone could expect from him anyway.
Losing a twin was scary. It was as though a part of him was missing -not dead-but missing. There were still days when he turned and half expected to see Fred. He could hear his voice in bare whispers. And sometimes when he glanced at his reflection he could swear he had another ear. At night during thunderstorms he could feel Fred climbing into his bed as he had done when they were small. Those times he held Angie just a little closer because she was the only thing that could bring him back.
But he had managed. He still ran WWW though it was very unsettling to not have Fred by him.He had married Angie. Without Fred, choosing a best man had been hard but choosing a name for their unborn baby was unbelievably easy.
He turned over to wake his pregnant wife as she insisted he do if he couldn't sleep but he decided to just let her sleep. Angelina was beautiful in a fiery sort of way. If not for her...he would have gone mental with grief. Angelina moaned in her sleep and George smiled. And with one arm around his wife he closed his eyes in hope of some well deserved sleep.
"George!Georgie..Oi!Wake up" Angelina yanked the covers off him.
"Wassahury?"
"We have to floo to Potter Manor remember? I'm sure Ginny's worried as to why I'm late" she said trying to tame her wild hair.
Fifteen minutes later, they clambered into the Potters' Floo and Apparition room rather clumsily.
"Angie!!!"Ginny cried and pulled her into a hug.
"Ahem! No need to mind me..I'm just your brother."
"Oh don't be silly George.I just happen to like Angie better" Ginny teased giving him a hug as well.
"Come on in..Harry's dying to show off his newfound cooking 'skills'" said Ginny with an emphasis on skills.
True to her word,Harry was trying to levitate a big pot of soup onto the counter.
"Hey George!Angie! "he said promptly dropping the pot.
"Scourgify" he muttered irritably.
"Looks like soup'll take sometime " laughed Angie.
"Yeah wonder how you haven't starved yet sis" said George earning him a glare from Harry and a playful shove from Ginny.
But lunch did get ready and was delicious and so was the conversation. As George and Harry debated on their favourite Harpies (each fanboying about his wife) Ginny dragged Angie off to show her the new walk in closer they'd built Bless Hermione and her Muggle childhood.
After a few hours, George tired of discussing Quidditch with Harry and stretched out on the couch to sleep when
Ginny barged in looking scared and very vulnerable "George,I think you should come with me!"
"What?Why?Where's Angie?"
"Just come!Please?"
