Hello Stony friends! I'm sorry it has been so long since my last story! I'm not sure where this came from except that I'm a nanny so I often find myself playing with children's toys a whole lot more intently then they do:-) Stay Young, friends.
Disclaimer: I do not own the Avengers or New York and her iconic buildings
Tony sat on the floor of his living room, building an intricate tower out of alphabet blocks. Steve chuckled quietly to himself as he watched from the door frame of the kitchen. Tony had easily been there for a couple of hours and what was even more comical was that Peter had fallen asleep after the first 30min. Their young son was currently curled up on the rug with his favorite Avengers fleece and a Hulk plushie. Steve wasn't even entirely certain that Tony was aware that his son was no longer conscious. His suspicions were suddenly confirmed when Tony placed the last block on the top of the Empire State model and turned excitedly to Peter only to have his moment ruined by a soft snore.
"You're sleeping!" Tony whisper shouted at the toddler, "How can you fall asleep to greatness?" Tony gestured to the tower with one hand and pointed a second to himself. Steve let out an audible laugh at the ridiculous display.
"You know, babe I'm not always sure who the toddler in this family is." Steve turned and walked into the kitchen grabbing a banana as he opened the cupboards to start dinner.
"I don't see you playing with our son and having the genius ability to build full model buildings out of alphabet blocks now do I!?" Tony reflected as he followed Steve, grabbing the banana out of his husband's hand as he jumped up on the counter.
"That's because I first of all don't find myself playing with alphabet blocks period after my 18 month old has fallen asleep and secondly I don't see the need for said son to have 100+ blocks when there are only 26 letters and 10 numbers." Steve grabbed Tony's hand to take a bite out of said banana before setting a pan on the stove and grabbing the hamburg from the refrigerator.
"Well of course he needs more than 26 letters Mr. Reasonable! How else can he spell words with more than three letters? Huh, Mr. Know-it-All? Answer me that!" Tony finished off their snack before tossing the peel and turning his attention back to Steve.
"Considering the fact that he is only a year old and that you weren't spelling but building the Empire State, I don't think 26 letters would be a problem." Steve threw linguini in another pan and smiled as he watched Tony jump down from the counter to go check on Peter, grumbling as he went, "It would be pretty darn difficult to build anything with only 26 letters!"
"I'm sure you could figure it out genius-of-mine!" Steve laughed out loud as Tony marched down to his work shop-a string of courses following him the whole way.
