Car
When Matt got his first car from his dad, he was so excited. Ever since he had gotten his permit he had been looking forward to the day he was able to drive his own car. No restriction. No rules. Just him and the long stretch of black road.
Of course, he learned that even though he had the freedom, he had new responsibilities. Money for gas, washing it, working on it so that it worked properly. But it was so worth it when looking back on the memories he had made in that car.
The first time he had been able to drive himself to school.
Picking up his friends who were so jealous that he had a car.
Rocking out to music on the radio, singing along in tune.
Looking over and seeing Tai in the passenger seat talking happily.
Sitting in the car nervously as he tried to force himself to get out and do what he came to do.
Biting his lip nervously as he asked Tai where he wanted to go.
Smiling as he drove home that night as he felt his cheek, right where Tai had kissed him.
Sitting in the car trying to warm up from the snow and talking with his new boyfriend.
A passionate kiss between them, causing them to warm up.
Hearing his band on the radio for the first time, Tai there congratulating him with a hug.
His first fight with Tai, leaving him hurt and angry.
His first make up, leaving him never wanting to hurt Tai again.
Their first vacation to the beach, there was so much sand leftover in the car.
Watching the stars on the car, holding hands.
Making love the first time that night in the backseat of the car, screaming out the other's name.
Confessing their love.
All Matt saw when he saw that car was the memories with Tai. Even though it's been years with that car, he still loves it to pieces.
Just like he loves his husband.
