It was just another day in the brigade room, and Haruhi was being her usual self, luckily for me. Yes, that was sarcasm. Come on, can you blame me? Anyway, it was just a normal day in the brigade room conducting our so called "club activities" which were mostly Haruhi yelling at me about not being able to do something right. Today it happened to be because I tore down some flyers she had posted with Miss Asahina on them. I couldn't bring myself to throw them away though, so they're all under my bed. Hey, you'd do the same thing if you saw them.
"Are you the brigade leader, Kyon? You can't just do whatever you want, I'm trying to run a club here!"
"You'd get in trouble for those like you did with the bunny girl outfits."
"Oh, that's not my fault this school is stupid. They should let me run this club how I want, and so should you!"
Oh Haruhi, so stubborn.
"Oh whatever, I can't do anything about it now." After saying this, she turned away and walked over to the computer. Probably to check the hits on the brigade website.
"No one will look at that website, Haruhi, you're just being stupid."
That's what I wanted to say anyway, but if I did Haruhi would kill me and that was the last thing I needed right now. I sat down at the table across from Koizumi. He looked at me and gestured to the Chinese Checker board. I shook my head. I wasn't in the mood to deal with games.
"Would you like some tea, Kyon?"
I looked in the direction of the voice to see the angel of the SOS brigade, Miss Asahina. In that maid outfit of hers no less. That was one thing I could deal with.
"Um... Kyon?" She waved her hand in front of my face. "Are you okay?"
I blinked. I'd been staring at her like an idiot while all she wanted was to get me some tea.
"Er... Yeah, that'd be great."
Nothing like Miss Asahina's tea to lift my mood. I glanced over at Haruhi. She was sitting at the computer, pouting. Hate to say I told you so, Haruhi. She stood up and looked at me.
"Kyon, I need you to help me with something."
Oh boy, what could it be this time? Before I could ask, she grabbed my tie and dragged me away. Have you ever been dragged by your tie? I don't recommend doing it. She dragged me out of the club room and down the hall.
"Where are we going!"
"Be quiet."
"Can I least walk there on my own?"
"No, be quiet."
Further conversation would be pointless, I already knew. I sighed, once again wondering why I put up with this day after day. She pushed me into a small broom closet and then closed the door behind her. Great, she's going to kill me in the closet so there's no chance of a witness.
"Why'd you bring me in here?"
She glared at me.
"Kyon, I'm not happy."
Obviously.
I shrugged.
"So... what are you going to do? Beat me with a broom or something?"
"If you're lucky."
She continued to glare at me.
"Right. Look, this is really romantic and everything but I'd rather not spend the rest of the day in a closet."
"Fine, I'll get this over with quick then."
She grabbed my tie again and pulled my face to hers.
"Uh... Haruhi?"
It was then that I noticed she had her hair in a ponytail.
"Shut up for a second, Kyon."
"What? But I-"
Then something surprising happened. Haruhi kissed me, and not a gentle kiss either. I closed my eyes and returned the kiss, surprising myself as well as Haruhi. I hate to admit it, but... I actually enjoyed it. She stopped then and let go of my tie. She stared at me for a minute or two.
"...Wh-what are you staring at me for?"
"You're my boyfriend now."
"Excuse me?"
"You're my boyfriend."
"But-"
"Boyfriend. Final."
She opened the door again and dragged me out and back towards the club room.
"Aren't you ashamed to be with someone who's not an alien, time traveler or, some other weird thing?"
"...I can get over it."
If she can get over that, I'm an esper.
