Anderson sat at his desk, finishing the last of his workday paperwork. When he had dotted the last "i" and crossed his last "t", he stood up and put on his jacket.
He looked around the office space. Already the place was practically dead. All the agents had gone home for the night but there was one other person in this space left with him.
Gina sat at her desk, her dark brown hair was tied back in a ponytail but there were a few strands that had escaped the confines of the elastic band. Her red stiletto heels were tucked under her desk and her desk completely swamped with files that had to be filled out and filed.
He watched her yawn and shake her head, trying to keep herself awake.
Anderson, who very much liked Gina and her amazing blue eyes, stood up and walked to the coffee machine. When two cups of what was supposed to be coffee (but were really just brown water with a kind of plastic flavoring) were made, he headed over to her desk.
"Fancy some help?" He asked.
She looked up and blue eyes met brown. He gazer into her eyes and smiled softly. She was beautiful, even if she was tired.
She smiled. "Of course, wouldn't turn down help when I'm this swamped." She accepted the coffee he gave her.
He sat across from her and grabbed half of the files she had in front of her.
As they worked, they didn't notice the time pass by as they made small talk. When they had finished the copious amount of files, Anderson licked his lips nervously.
"Hey, so the Christmas party is coming up. And. . . Well. . ." Damn, he couldn't finish when she was staring at him like that.
"Yeah?" She wanted him to finish.
"Nothing. Sorry. It was nice seeing you Gina." He turned to leave when she stopped him.
"Anderson, would you like to come to the Christmas party with me?"
He turned around, speechless. Then he smiled. "Yeah, I would."
She smiled back and slipped on her stilettos. "See you tomorrow. And thanks for everything."
"See you." He watched her leave.
