Everything was gone.
In the end, Obito and Madara were defeated, but at the cost of the lives of everyone else.
Naruto Senju-Uzumaki let out a quiet laugh as he lay dying next to his rival and best friend, Sasuke Uchiha. "So this is how it ends, huh?" he murmured.
Sasuke looked over at him with a weak smile. "I guess so, dobe."
Naruto glared at the sky. "So this is the end of everything. I just wish things had turned out differently." A voice rang in his head.
"What if it could?"
What do you mean, Kurama?
"There is one jutsu I know of. My father taught it to us in case the world became truly irreparable, so it remains untested, but it will work. Turn back the clock. Fix the future."
How do you use it?
"You and the Uchiha both have some chakra left. This will take both of you back I-have-no-idea how far." Kurama described the, rather simple process.
"Sasuke, there's a way to fix this. Time travel jutsu." His eyes grew wide. Naruto grabbed his hand. "I need you to channel your chakra. Kurama will do the rest." As the two dying teens clasped hands, Kurama began to form hand seals in his mind-scape. A lot of them. Just before the technique finished, Sasuke turned to his friend.
"I'll see you in the past . . . Naruto."
"Can't wait, Sasuke."
A flash of light that lit up the corpse-filled battlefield took the pair far into the past . . . and when they awoke, both could tell that something was very, very wrong.
Two people whispered at the same time:"What the hell? This isn't my body!"
