Why a horror movie? Why a really good horror movie and not one where everyone in the room was pointing out the mistakes a character made? This was a bad idea, no one was going to get any sleep tonight.

No one dared to admit it though, except Liz, who left the room every 10 minutes saying she needed to go to the restroom and then reappearing at a jump scare and breaking down into tears.

And Patty wasn't really paying attention, she was just coloring scribbles on a paper but Patty doesn't really count.

This was probably the worst Saturday night hangout they had ever planned. This was also all the guys idea; they thought it would end up with the girls hugging tight to them like you see on television. Unfortunately, the plan back fired and everyone was frozen-in-their-seats scared.

They fought monsters on a regular basis, they had zombie teachers, they had defeated the kishin, and yet there they were, all on verge of pissing themselves from a movie.

Every once in a while Black*Star would pipe up saying "That wasn't scary." or something along the lines and Soul would mumble an agreement shakily. Each time Maka would use her soul perception to see if that was true and so far they had only been lying. She couldn't hold it against them though, she was just as terrified by the insanity of the movie.

-Time Skip-

The movie ended, it was 1:00 A.M. and everyone knew they probably weren't going to get any sleep when they got home.

Everyone gave small, shaky goodbyes before quickly leaving leaving to their own homes. Everyone knew the others would be ok getting home, with how jumpy everyone was someone might end up accidentally killing a random raccoon.

After everyone left, Maka and Soul looked at the room, which was covered in popcorn, discarded pieces of pizza, and candy wrappers, and seemed to telepathically agree to clean up in the morning. But as they went to their separate rooms and got into bed, images from the terrifying movie started to roll through their minds, blocking them from dreamland.

Maka used her soul perception to see if Soul was still awake. To her surprise, he seemed even more restless than her. She heard him get out of bed and go into the kitchen and decided to get out and follow too. Not like she was going to get any sleep anyway.

Soul nearly jumped out of his skin when he heard someone behind him, only to find Maka.

"Hey, you can't sleep either?" Maka asked.

"Maybe," he answered gruffly, he still didn't want to admit that a stupid movie freaked him out.

"Oh come on, Soul, I'm your partner and I can sense your soul, what's the point in trying to lie about it?" Maka answered crossly.

'Dammit,' Soul thought.

They stood in silence as Maka smirked triumphantly and then went to grab her own glass of water.

"Wanna watch stupid reality T.V. and make fun of the characters?" she asked, it was the only way they ever got along with watching T.V. together, it was also the only time Maka seemed to watch T.V..

Soul gave an inward sigh of relief that Maka wasn't going to give him hell for being scared about a silly movie and nodded. They both headed over to their small couch, that looked more like a small landfill than a couch, and cleared enough room away for them both to sit side by side.

They flipped through channels for a few minutes before finding something easy to make fun of. Maka making most of the sarcastic remarks about the over dramatic characters. It went silent during commercial time, but when the show came back on and Soul didn't hear any snide remarks coming from his meister he looked over to see her passed out on his shoulder. He smiled, turned off the television, grabbed a nearby blanket, and placed it over them.

"Maybe that scary movie plan worked out after all," he thought as he fell asleep, cuddled up next to Maka.

Despite what they had thought an hour ago, they both got probably the best nights sleep they ever had.
