This is just a short tribute to Marian, it's not my greatest work and it did not turn out as I had intended but I hope you will like it anyway.

Please enjoy and review.

The Maid

Robin Hood returned. After months, the legend had come home to England, to Locksley and he had brought with him a new tale for the bards to sing.

The Maid, they called her.

To the public she was known as Lady Marian of Knighton. The daughter of the former late sheriff of Nottingham and former fiancé of Sir Guy of Gisborne was known simply as an uncommonly kind noble woman.

But that was the extent of it. There was no more.

Now the people knew the truth. They knew who she was. They knew.

She was my wife.

Robin Hood had screamed in anguish as he attacked his wife's murdered before seemingly dying himself. As the memorial for Hood took place, whispers of his lady fed the wanting ears.

And soon the story was out.

Lady Marian was not just a noble; she was a protector of the people, a soldier of justice.

An outlaw.

The people began to discover more about her as the sun continued to set and to rise. As Robin Hood returned and continued to fight.

He fought for her, people said, and he always would.

Stories began to float from the winds of Sherwood Forest and straight to the bards who sung her tale.

The Night Watchman.

Died in protection of the King.

The tale of Robin Hood would long survive beyond her death and his. The Legend would grow of a notorious outlaw and his merry men who stole from the rich and gave to the poor.

Stories would tell of the Maid as well.

The beautiful woman who held the heart of Robin Hood.
