Hachi watched with amusement as Nobu tried his damnedest to fix their sink. After Nana moved in with Ren in their flat apartment, Nobu decided it was time he move in and be with his girl to protect, like a true gentlemen.
Today: the sink seemed to be the enemy. Only it looked like the house hold was on the winning side.
Nobu ground his teeth as he worked at the stupid pipe one last time. It worked. Keeping a wary eye on the one pipe that had squirted water in his eye twice, he twisted a bolt with the wrench one last time before pulling himself out from underneath the sink. "Try it." He said, wiping his hands on a rag.
Hachi reached forward and twisted the knob. Water gushed out, filling the sink before it was completely full. "Still clogged."
"Grr," Nobu threw the rag down and glared at the stupid sink. "I hate sinks."
Hachi laughed. "Okay." She noted the way Nobu's face reddened in anger. "How about we break for lunch at least?"
He glanced to her. "Can you do without the sink?"
She gave a cheerful nod. Quickly, she pulled out a loaf of bread, some cold cuts and started making sandwiches. Handing off a ham and cheese to Nobu, she sat down with her turkey and provolone before sighing.
"I'm sorry." Nobu answered in reply to it.
Hachi blinked. "What?"
"You're upset. I'm sorry I couldn't fix the sink."
Face screwing up into confusion, she looked to the sink and back to him and recognition dawned on her. "Oh! That's not it."
Nobu bit his sandwich. "Then what is it?"
Looking down at the tablecloth, Hachi felt her cheeks heat. Now he needed to know. "Well..."
He inched further out of his seat, food forgotten. "What is it?" He urged her on.
She glanced around, trying to distract her eyes away from the intrigued Nobu. "Well...the sink...it will take more time...and we haven't..." she blushed "you know...and I don't mean to sound spoiled or anything but..."
Nobu cocked his head to the side, imitating the dog Nana called her. "Are you talking about our talks? Cause we can do that while I work on the sink."
Hachi's blush grew even darker if possible. "No. I mean, we haven't had sex."
There was a loud thud as Nobu fell straight out of his chair.
"Nobu! Oh my goodness, are you alright?" Meeting him at the other end of the table on the floor, she touched his cheek to find it red hot. "Do you have a fever?"
Nobu looked up, his eyes glazing as he picked up his now squealing girlfriend and carried her into the bedroom.
Be damned if he missed any chance to be with his woman!
