Poem I wrote from the last chapters of The Two Towers, from the Lord Of The Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien. My writing will never, in a million years, be even comparable to Tolkien, but I wanted to pay him some tribute by writing a poem about one of my favourite scenes. Reviews would be kind, please and thank you. :)

The Choices Of Master Samwise
I tried to protect him and help him prevail,
But I failed, now he looks cold and pale.
He lies so still, and no words escape him,
Things were bad, but are now beyond grim.
I take my master's hand, and let my tears fall,
The darkness was so big, but I felt so small.
I was alone next to him, and I had to decide,
Would I leave and continue, or stay by his side?
I know I had to complete this one task,
But for a small hobbit like me, it's so much to ask.
I know I must do it, for Frodo and the rest,
I'll take it to Mordor, though of choices, I'm not the best.
I've trudged not that far, but I hear a sound,
Like the noise of many feet crushing ground.
To my horror, I see that my master is taken,
He was only drugged, and he would awaken!
I scream at myself, how could I've been so blind?
Orcs have taken my master, he's been gagged and bind!
As the gate slams shut, I fall to the earth,
Cursing myself and the day of my birth.
Slowly I realize that I must make amends,
I must rescue my master from those heathens.
As hope grows in me, I know I will win,
I'll find my way and come through for him.
