Disclaimer: Shugo Chara! belongs to Peach-Pit.

Author's Note: I present to you, Only a Matter of Time, the sequel to Jealousy Can Take You Far. This fic is much better than the other one, well at least I think so. After this story goes on, and their child continues to grow, I'll probably write a sequel to this sequel, about him older with another sibling. I warn you, there are spoilers about Ikuto's parents.

"He reminds me of you, Iku-kun," the young woman whispered gently, her eyelids fluttering slightly as her preoccupied gaze came to the young infant she cradled in her arms.

Ikuto, the midnight azure-haired man, nearly a decade older than her grumbled. He was not aware of it, in view of the fact that all newborns appeared to be similar. "Amu, what about brown?"

"What about brown?"

"Dear, I don't actually understand," he said with a delicate tone, "how did he come out purple?"

"Ikuto, I repeat, what is this about purple and brown?"

The infant Amu held in her arms, was preoccupied with Yoru in his small palm, tugging lightly at his feline ears. He cooed with a tinge of delight with his amber, tawny orbs filled with glee. Amu stroked his silky mauve locks with hints of violet and gray, then her fingers followed to his petite, tender nose, which he wrinkled in irritation.

"Well, if my memory serves me correct, if you cross your pink hair along with my blue hair, his would become an awkward brown, right?" Ikuto murmured to Amu, "but his hair is purple…Well, at least his hair isn't pink."

"Ikuto!" Amu started to giggle under her breath, then her eyes traveled to the picturesque, charming park they took a stroll in. It was a breathtaking scenery, one she would not soon forget. She cherished the moment, as the cherry-pink petals were carried swiftly in the breeze, unknown where they were heading; however, she did know they carried from the baring trees, the branches soon to blossom once again. "Cherry blossoms; aren't they so peaceful? Isn't that right, Aruto-chan?"

Tsukiyomi Aruto was named after Ikuto's father, whose whereabouts were unknown. Ikuto's foster father, Hoshina Kazuomi was referred to by Ikuto as, "Mr. Director." Ikuto continued to feel betrayed after his mother remarried, yet he still believes Aruto will return someday.

"…to! Ikuto! Hello, are you there?" Ikuto immediately came back to reality, his midnight orbs tinted with melancholy.

"Ah, sorry."

"If you say so."

Aruto's lower lip quivered, a light whimper coming out. His cheeks were giving warmth, a rose-pink shade remained.

Ikuto fondled with his son's zipper of his jacket, and pulled it down slightly, to not suffocate him. "Better?"

Aruto continued to quiver timidly. Her Shugo Charas had stayed with her for all this time, aiding her in her time of need along with Aruto. Suu said, "It seems that Aru-chan's hungry-desu!"

Amu dug in the stroller at her side, randomly pulling out things. "Oh! I forgot his bottle! I'm sorry…"

"Leave it to me-desu! Chip Syrup Whip!"

Ikuto placed the bottle in his mouth, watching him suckle it gently. She let Ikuto handle Aruto for once; she watched him embrace him, an affectionate emotion had poured upon her, and she could not help grin. "Thank you," she murmured.

"For what?"

"Just thank you; we have Aruto. I-I'm so happy!"

She gave a, "Heh," then placed her hand over her eyes, to block her flow of apparent tears. He believed they were tears of joy, instead of the sorrowful cries he was used to seeing.

"We should take a picture," Amu said.

They found a photographer setting up at the park, and persuaded him to take a picture.

A flash let them blind for a moment, but it was worth it, as they saw the photo. In the picture, Aruto was in his stroller, with Ikuto kissing Amu's forehead as she was kneeling downwards.

"This moment…We'll never forget it."
