A/N: Oh mah goodnezz. It's 2KX! And what better way to set off the new year than by writing a fic? I worked on this baby for two days :]

I know I haven't been on here for a while, but I also know that I had a little inspiration, thanks to Mr. Half-Blood Prince (I got the special edition for Christmas!!)

So, I hope you enjoy this fic! It's kinda cute.

DISCLAIMER: I don't own Harry Potter, JKR does. She's wonderful.

Skipping down the hall, she felt her long blonde hair bobbing off of her back and her mouth curl into a dreamy smile. She didn't notice the looks she was getting from her fellow classmates as she went to the Herbology greenhouses to get some make up work.

Luna entered the greenhouse, however, and stopped, her already surprised eyes growing wide. A very dusty Neville Longbottom was working on a plant, pruning and picking at the huge green leaves. The leaves seemed to dance around the awkward teen as he worked.

Luna couldn't take her eyes off of him, feeling her heart palpitate fiercely and her hands start to sweat. Her mind was telling her clearly to just get her stuff and leave, but she was much more complex than that.

"Hello, Neville," she said, her voice barely even. She smiled at him as he looked up, surprised.

"I thought I was here by myself," Neville breathed, happy that the new person in the room wasn't a Slytherin. "How are you?"

"Oh, I'm fantastic," Luna breathed, walking to him. Placing her delicate, shivering hands on the table, she told Neville, "I'm looking for Professor Sprout. I have to pick up some make up work…I was hunting for Nargles the other day, and I missed class."

"That sounds like typical Luna," Neville teased, looking around for Sprout. "I don't think she's back from her…whatever it is she went to go do…" He looked at her sadly. "I'm sorry, Luna. Maybe I can help you find the makeup work? When do you have Professor Sprout?"

"I have her second class, in the morning." Luna watched as Neville went to Sprout's desk, looking for papers. He looked slightly afraid, as if he knew that he would get in trouble for snooping around the desk. She smiled softly, knowing that Neville was a good man. He wouldn't bother looking for the papers she needed if he wasn't so caring.

"Aha!" Neville walked to Luna, handing her a little pile of papers with her name on it. "I found them for you."

"Thank you, Neville. You didn't have to do this," Luna said dreamily, letting her heart fill her body with warmth. Blushing, she continued, "You're a good friend, you know."

Neville smiled shyly. "Thanks, Luna. That's a nice thing to say. I've, uh, gotta get back to this plant…I'll talk to you later?"

"Sure," Luna said softly, watching him turn back to the plant. She walked out backwards, staring at him with longing in her eyes.
