I don't own Pearl Harbor or the characters, but the extras are mine, so please enjoy. This is my first Pearl Harbor Fanfic, so if you can go just a little easy on me. Please review!

Although Rafe McCawley and Danny Walker still lived next to each other, they had high hopes for flying and beyond in the future. The air force was one of they're biggest dreams to achieve, but with rumors of World War II concerning the United States, the danger mounted every year for them. Danny was almost 15 years old and Rafe was about 17 years old and ready to enlist for the air force. The only thing holding him back was Danny, who he wanted to go with. Even though Danny was smart and did well in school, he was very self conscience. He never had a girl while Rafe did and he wasn't in school and had the hardest time with reading no matter how many times Danny tried to help him.
This one day changed and helped Danny become better then he was. Danny was walking through the farmer's village in Tennessee where he lived, but something was very different about this day. There were some rumors going on about a general coming into town to try and recruit pilots for the war, but Danny didn't go in to draft, he went in for feed for the animals and other house hold things. He walked through the busy road that was the same since he was little, and there standing in front of a window was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. She was dressed in a light pink knee length dress with her hair in pig tails. She was very tiny and the softest brown hair and blue eyes that shined in the sun. From the looks of her, Danny thought she must have been at least 11 years old.
"Hey there." Danny said standing next to her. "What's your name?"
"Lyn, Lyn White. What's yours?" Lyn asked shyly.
"Danny Walker. Your not from here are you Miss White?"
"No I'm from Washington D.C. My dad's a Commandant of the Marine Corps, or as he likes to say, General."
"Miss White how old are you?" Danny asked leaning against the building wall.
"12 years old. I'll be 13 next month."
"Lyn!" A gruff voice boomed from across the street. Danny and Lyn looked and the sight of the man frightened Danny. He was so big and buff that his size was alarming.
"I have to go Danny; I hope to see you again soon." Lyn said and started to walk across the street but stopped and ran back, "Danny here," Lyn said and handed him her hair ribbon. "To remember me." And with that Lyn was gone with her father. Danny stood there watching her retreating form and then down at her hair ribbon.
