it as a peaceful night
harry was doing his homework infront of the fire, hermione was weaving hats for house elves, and ron was wasting his life doing nothing on the rug,
harry was nearly finishing his essay about the properties of moonstone when the window burst open, and an owl burst through
hermione screamed, ron leapt to his feet, and harry accidentally threw his nearly finishied essay into the fire
muttering about bullet proof glass being needed at hogwarts,harry turned to look at the owl, and to his surprise, saw that it had a letter adressed to him
he picked up the letter, and tore the envelope open
"it's from hedwig!" he whispered
"why would she be writing to you this late?" hermione asked
hedwig had taught herself to read and write by studying harry and sirius's letters, but she rarely wrote to him while out on a hunt, like this night(pigwigeon had gone with her.)

just wanted to know that we're not coming for the night
we're inside an abandoned house now, and pigwigeon's sleeping in a cage(i'm exploring now)
and hey,
someone's in the house( maybe they're the owners)
they're coming up the stairs
i can hear them
they went into the room where pigwigeon is
the letter ended and harry flipped it over to find a hastily scribbled note
oh my god harry they took pigwigeon
harry i'm scared

harry grabbed a piece of parchment from beside the fire, and began to scribble quickly
hedwig
calm down
go to a secluded corner and hide
don't read this letter until you do
once you've hidden you have to remember this
they're going to take you
but it's going to be okay
i will find you
but you're going to have to help me
before they take you write down everything you can about the kidnappers
and send it by this owl
stay out of sight best you can
harry attatched the letter to the owl and told it to go back to the house
as it flew away, hermione wondered"i wonder how hedwig sent the owl?"
"guess it was flying past or something"muttered ron, who was shaking from shock "who'd want to kidnap an owl?
at that moment, the owl came back, a crumpled piece of parchment in its beak
one of its wing was damaged, and harry could see that it was in pain.
"they've seen it."harry muttered
he unfolded the parchment, and saw the hastily scribbled words

harry didn't stop to ponder about the meaning of the four words
he grabbed another piece of parchment and began to write
i don't know who you are
i don't know why you took my owl
if you're looking for a ransom, i can tell you i don't have any money to give you
but what i do have is a set of very special skills
skills, that i've learned over the years while fighting voldemort
skills, that would be a nightmare to you
he paused, and thought how to finish this
if you let my owl go, that will be the end of it
i will not pursue you
but if you don't
i shall chase you
i will find you
and i will KEEEEEELLLL you
he tied the letter to the owl, promised to give it 5 rats for a reward, and set it off
almost instantly, it returned, if flew towards harry, and held out it's leg
harry opened the letter
