Scorching Darkness
A/N: I do not own Lily Potter or anyone from the original Harry Potter series.
Chapter One
Scorpius
I first saw Lily Potter at King's Cross, stepping onto Platform Nine and Three Quarters. My father turned me away as I began to stare. She was the most beautiful girl I'd ever seen. Her tomato-red hair fell down past her waist, and her ivory complexion glowed with health. Two years later, in third year, was when I first began to fall in love with Lily Potter. I couldn't tell a soul, though. If my father knew that I hd fallen in love with Harry Potter's daughter…I didn't even like to think about it. I could never get close enough to her to talk, because whenever I even looked at her, James and Albus, her brothers, glared at me as if I was the plague. I could swear, though, when we both took after-hours walks in the Forbidden Forest and ran into each other, for just a second, her beautiful green eyes, so like her father's, stared into mine with alonging neither of us was able to identify at that age. It was the beginning of fifth year, two years later, and Lily and I were in the same potions class. Professor Slughorn tried to collect her, just like the rest of the famous and beautiful.
"Ah, you are the daughter of the famous Harry and Ginny Potter, are you not?" he asked, his beady eyes staring down at Lily's cauldron, which contained the Strengthening Solution.
"I see you have inherited your father's talent! Look at this, it's absolutely perfect!"
As Slughorn crowed over Lily's potion, I was able to stare at her without ayone knowing, least of all her. She must have felt my gaze, though, because she looked up and smiled at me, her beautiful eyes sining with a warmth I now knew how to identify. As everyon filed ot of the classroom, I caught up wit Lily, wh was walking with one of her friends, Rosalind Finigan.
"Lily, can I talk to you for a moment?" I asked her, and Rosalind glared at me.
"Er…I guess." Lily waved Rosalind on and we stopped by one of the suits of armor.
"Look, Lily. We need to talk. Meet me by the Lake at ten. It's urgent."
Then, I bent down and pressed my lips against hers.
