Maybe Chris was not destined to have a happy ending.

Three years was a very long time of waiting. And waiting, as everybody knows, is not something likable. He waited for a claim. A life-worth claim from his god parent. And it seems that Olympus did not care any single shit about his living being.

Three years after his arrival on Camp Half-Blood, and he stuck in Cabin 11 which was definitely not his destined cabin (because, yes, he had a biological father, mind you). He was unclaimed, never knew who was the woman who sent him to the world.

Everybody pitied him for that.

Not Clarisse (even though she's claimed by Ares quite fast, even though she is the daughter of Ares who supposed to search for enemy and not befriend with him.)

"Maybe your mother is a minor goddess," she told him every time he talked to her about his issue. "And probably the one you don't know, so she would be hurt when you asked 'Who's her?' to everyone."

But to be truthful, he did a research about all minor goddesses. He knew every Greek and even Roman gods.

So when Luke Castellan offered him to join Kronos, his convincing words got absorbed in his mind.

"I'm leaving," he told Clarisse after sparring in arena. Only her, because she is his best friend in Camp. "I'll join Luke tonight."

She did not asked him why. "Think again," she only answered that.

"I've done it a hundred times."

After that, they do another round and acted normally like nothing would happen. She sneaked out from her cabin to give him some farewell and friendly hug.

Little did he knew that Clarisse held back her tears in her bed, could not sleep for the entire night. Little did he knew that the great fighter had some feelings for him.

"We can be something," she murmured. "My feelings for you... it's blooming, Chris."

Maybe Clarisse was not destined to have a happy ending, either.

*THE END!*
