He scowled at the screen. Failure? Zim, a failure? Lies. Lies. Lies! All of it Lies!
He returned to the computer, still scowling. For far to long had he been on this filthy rock called a planet for it to be for nothing.
He grinned in a way that could scare. Yes, that was the Tallests' one mistake. He is Zim! Zim does not give up and wait for the end! Zim destroys, yes. And how Zim destroys.
Gradually, he began to laugh. Quietly at first but soon it began to wake the neighbors. Yes. Zim would see this world engulfed in flames before he gave up.
Something snapped in his PAK. He no longer felt loyalty to the "almighty" Irken Empire and its fools that lead it. Yes. He would see this world engulfed in flames and the Tallest dead at his feet before he gave up.
"I know you're up to something, Zim! But I'll stop you!" The voice echoed through the halls.
Green lips peeled back into a deadly smile. "You should not have come, worm. Not tonight."
"Ha! I've got you now, space monster!" Dib screeched around a corner but froze when he saw the alien.
"I play no smeet's game anymore, Dib," Zim said, rising onto his spider legs.
Though he tried to escape, Dib was pinned forcefully to the wall. "For five of your years have I put up with you and your disgusting, selfish race. Wasted. All of it! But no longer."
Dib's heart beat fast from fear and adrenaline. His face remained defiant, however. He would not show fear to the enemy.
"I feel pity, for some reason, toward your futile efforts against me, however," Zim slowly backed away from the teen. "I will let you escape and warn your people. You have the technology now to save your race. I will revel myself to emphasize your point, but do not try to stop me this time. You will not escape with your life."
The look in Zim's pupil-less eyes urged Dib to escape. But he had played this game far too long to back out so easily.
"I will destroy you, Zim." He turned and left the base one last time.
Many months later, Zim smirked at the now chard planet. Perhaps, life would renew itself on its surface. Earth was always weird.
He turned to the fleeing ships. "GIR!"
"Yes, my master?"
"Assist the remaining humans and give this to the Dib-monkey."
"Yes, sir!"
Zim smirked slightly as the robot sped away. Perhaps the humans would finally change for the better. As the phoenix is reborn in fire, so to would the humans. But for now, Zim's only goal would be the death of the two Tallest.
