I wanted to do something a little more G-rated then my previous fics, and so here you go. Enjoy!

Mist cast a quick healing spell from her physic staff, guiding her horse to a hidden thatch of branches where she would be out of enemy range. The battle raged on fiercely, neither side caving. She eyed her brother at the head of the group, her heart leaping as he narrowly dodged a javelin. The young healer tore her eyes away from her brother before worry could overtake her, and looked around, checking for any other injured allies.

However, as she was getting ready to ride to catch up with the back of the group, she heard a loud rumbling growl. She turned and gasped, completely rigid. Two tiger feral ones stood there, crouched down, ready to pounce. Mist frantically began to run ideas through her head, but they were all jumbled up, her nerves overwhelming her. Before she knew it, her horse was taking off, but they were upon her.

The valkyrie was thrown to the ground, her steed giving off a loud cry as it fell as well. But then, she heard a yelp. She rolled over and found a large familiar blue tiger tearing at the beasts, having taken out one before she even turned. It dispatched the other one easily, and Mist smiled, standing and helping her horse up as well.

The tiger shape-shifted, and before her was the towering Mordecai.

"You must be more careful, young one." He said, getting on one knee so that they were eye level, "That is the fifth time in the last week."

She blushed, "I'm sorry, Mordecai, but thank you for protecting me. You're always watching over me."

He nodded, starting to stand up. However, Mist walked forward.

"Wait, Mordecai."

The tiger halted, and the girl grabbed his shoulders, leaning forward and kissing his lips. It was short, but it was so sweet. She then pulled away, and Mordecai was dark red. She smiled, blushing lightly and murmuring a soft 'thank you' before hurrying back over to her horse and climbing on.

As she rode off to join the group, her protector smiled, touching his lips gently.
