BEDTIME STORY
It was a cold winter night in the Mushroom Kingdom and Delilahh was getting into bed when her mother Amelia walked in. Her mother walked over to her and sat on the bed as she was lying down in her warm bed.
"I would like to tell you a story." Amelia told her child.
"Mom, I'm thirteen now, I'm too old for a bedtime story." Delilahh yawned as she pulled her pink blanket over her shoulder.
"Just listen to me." Her mother sighed. "You have no idea who your father is and that's my fault."
Delilahh sat back up and straightened her fake black glasses.
"I wanted to wait until you were older because I didn't want to make you upset." She told her daughter.
The girl with the fake black glasses stared at her mother.
"About fourteen years ago your father Emilio Revoir knocked me up and we got married, but seven months before you were born a war broke out." She spoke.
Delilahh made a face out of disgust as she thought about what her parents did together.
"Why you make that face?" Amelia asked as she tucked her hair behind her ear.
"You had sex, that's gross!" Delilahh exclaimed.
"It's not gross when you are with someone you love." Amelia replied as she slid further back on the queen size bed. "Anyway, when the war broke out in the village, Emilio joined in with the other men and I was taken out of the village."
"Were you the only one taken out of the village?" The teen asked out of curiosity.
"No, several others were taken out of the village." Amelia told her.
Delilahh laid back down and looked at her mother. "So what happen to my dad?"
"He was killed in action…" She sighed. "I was devastated…"
"What was he like?" The teen asked her mother.
"He was very loyal to the village, he was so kind, and he was truly noble." She described, getting up off the bed. "I wish you could've met him."
"Maybe I can." Delilah thought to herself as she laid down all the way. "I'll ask Professor E. Gadd later."
"Goodnight." Amelia told her child as she kissed her on the forehead.
"Goodnight mom." The teen replied as she watched her leave her room.
Delilahh removed her fake glasses and placed them on the night stand and rolled over to face the wall.
"Someday I will meet my father, but I'll have to be careful about a time paradox." She thought to herself as she dozed off.
