After The Battle
"The wand's more trouble than it's worth," said Harry. "And quite honestly," he turned away from the painted portraits, thinking now only of the four-poster bed lying waiting for him in Gryffindor Tower, and wondering whether Kreacher might bring him a sandwich there, "I've had enough trouble for a lifetime."

Harry walked out of the Headmaster's Office and started walking back to the common room with Ron and Hermione. When he got to the common room he sat down.
"Hey Harry mate. Me and Hermione are going up to bed. You coming?"
Hermione and Ron started walking up the spiral staircase to the dorms they hadn't been in for a year. Harry just sat there staring at the fire. Someone walked in and stopped when they saw him. She sat down next to him and he finally looked up. He gasped. Sitting next to him was Ginny Weasley. She was more beautiful than ever with flaming red hair – just like her brother's. He looked at her eyes and could see that she had been crying.
"Ginny are you okay?" he said to her quietly. She nodded and looked at the floor - tears were forming in the corner of hers. Harry put his arm around her and pulled her into a hug. Ginny started crying openly. Harry could feel tears rolling down his cheeks; he just hated seeing her like this.
"I-I'm s-s-sorry H-Har-r-y. I-It's j-just th-that it's it's so, so, so sad." Ginny sniffed. "I-I m-mean I'm h-happy you-know-who's gone b-but why d-did th-they h-have to d-die. She stopped talking and buried her head into Harry's shoulder. Harry started rubbing her back.
"Gin I know it's sad but Fred, Remus, Tonks, Colin and everyone else who's died wouldn't want you wasting your life crying over them and wishing they were here again. Remember what Dumbledore used to say – Those who we truly love never leave us. It's okay to be sad but you can't stop it from ruining your life." He lifted up her chin and looked into her eyes. Then he kissed her quickly. It was just a peck on her lips but Ginny felt happier. She put her arms round his neck and pulled hi in and their lips met. They deepened the kiss and Harry put his arms round her waist. They felt like they were there for hours and neither of them wanted to pull away. They were in Utopia.

Molly Weasley walked up to her old common room and opened the portrait hole. What she saw put a smile on her face. Her youngest daughter was lying on the couch with her hand on Harry's chest. Harry had his arm round her waist and was cuddling into her. They both had faint smiles on their faces and tear streaks running down their cheeks. Molly Weasley thought of all those times in the holidays the year before. Ginny Weasley coming home and telling her mum that Harry had broken up with her to save her from Voldermort. Of how her brothers had gone round in a sulk after finding out that Harry and Ginny had date. Of how sorry Harry was of causing a fuss. She even remembered the meal at the burrow when Harry and Ginny had been forced to sit next to each other and Harry at tried so hard not to let his arm brush against hers. She was happy. Her only daughter had found the love of her life. Molly Weasley knew they would last forever. Soul mates. The youngest Weasley and the Boy Who Lived …………
