Ways to Mistrust
Chapter 1
Kazuma and Shizuru Kuwabara had woken up very early in the morning to go to the airport. Their cousin Miya was going to arrive soon, and they were given the task of keeping her with them until her father could take her in. Kuwabara yawned for the tenth time that morning; he was used to waking up at seven o'clock for school. His sister fared better, but she was a little irritable.
At the waiting area, Kuwabara began to doze off as he sat down in a chair and he would have begun snoring if Shizuru hadn't jabbed his side. "Kazuma, wake up! Miya will be here any minute!" Kuwabara reluctantly sat up and saw a large group of people enter the terminal. One girl caught his attention. Her dark brown hair was in a ponytail. Her dress went down to her knees, and a black sweater was over it. Shizuru noticed the girl at that moment and went to her. Kuwabara was too tired to follow her. Shizuru talked to the girl for a while, and after a while, the two girl went over to Kuwabara. The girl extended her hand to Kuwabara.
"I'm Miya. It's nice to meet you. Kuwabara took her hand and shook it.
"I'm Kazuma Kuwabara. So we're cousins, huh?" Miya nodded, beginning to laugh. "I don't wanna sound rude, but can we go now, Shizuru? I'm really tired."
"Maybe she's waiting for you to get up," Miya said to him. Kuwabara made amove to get up, but he couldn't, so Miya pulled him up. "Thanks. Now can we go?" He, Shizuru, and Miya made their way out of the airport to the apartment. Kuwabara immediately made his way to his room and changed into his school uniform. Miya and Shizuru sat down on the couch and began to talk.
"So, how old are you, Miya?" Miya looked down at the ground when she spoke. "I'm fifteen," was all she said to her older cousin. Shizuru went on. "That's Kazuma's age." Miya continued to look at the ground. "I didn't know about you guys, to be honest. My mother never told me I had cousins." Shizuru looked at Miya kindly and touched her arm. "Miya, it'll be fine here. Don't worry so much." Kuwabara came out in his uniform and yawned again. "Well, I'm on my way to school now Shizuru. It was nice meeting you, Miya." He left the apartment to go to school, leaving his sister and cousin to talk some more.
"Shizuru?" Miya looked at her cousin for the first time.
"Yes?"
"I'm tired. Where can I sleep?" Shizuru stood up and motioned for her to follow. They went to Kuwabara's room. Miya sat on her cousin's bed. "Thanks, Shizuru. I guess I'll see you later." Shizuru left the room to let her cousin rest.
