Prologue
Leaning my head on my husbands chest, I stared at the wall of our bedroom as the clock struck twelve noon. I could feel him bury his nose in the top of my head, some of his green hair becoming visible out of the corner of my eye. It had been quite some time since we had some time like this together, and he had a rough couple of weeks, so we were enjoying it like we had the first time, just simply laying there.
Our children had gone off to visit my brother, who still didn't approve of our marriage, but he loved his nieces and nephews all the same. I had closed the gym to have a day to ourselves allowing my Pokemon to have a break as well. We came to Hoenn years ago, and after several years, the gym leaders made some changes. Watson decided to retire, so Mauville replaced his electric type gym and the Dynamo badge with my dragon type gym and the Scale badge. I couldn't use my best team since I was only the third gym leader in the region, but I made the best out of it.
Our children started coming a year and three months after I became the gym leader. My husband started freaking out, thinking he wouldn't be a good father for them. I did my best to soothe his nerves, but I probably made them worse when I got to the later months of my first pregnancy. He must have approved of his dad skills after our first child because he gave me three more after that and I have yet to tell him, we're expecting another. They all inherited his ability to understand Pokemon, much to his delight, and they received most of their looks from him, besides Jasmyn. She was a mini me.
I'm twenty six with him being one year older than me. Our children are seven, five, five, and four. We actually hadn't been married when Jasmyn came, we were just two nineteen year old kids living off of love. Then, when we had been parents for six months, he pulled a fast one on me and found a ring made out of Kalos materials. He must have wanted to assure me he would be there for me no matter what.
His breathing became deep, signaling that he dozed off. Wrapping my arm around his middle, I allowed my mind to take me back to the day my path met his.
I shut the front door to my Unova home, a small package in my arms. Inside were three Pokeballs waiting to be distributed between my brother, Black, and our friends, Bianca and Cheren. With my Dratini laying across my shoulders like a scarf like she seemed to love doing, I walked up the stairs to my brothers room, ready to pick up the destruction he and Bianca would no doubt bring as soon as they had their little ones. Why Professor Juniper even considered those two, I'd never know, but I knew one thing for certain. Just like my friends in Hoenn and Sinnoh, that day would be the first important chapter of our lives.
Nothing could stop any of us from finding our ways, and we wouldn't stop until we found them.
