Hiei sat patiently by Yukina's side everyday ever since she had been told by Kuwabara that he really didn't love her anymore. For some unknown event that the others had no idea about and decided it best not to question. But none-the-less, Hiei sat with her today as patiently as day one, so she didn't feel so lonely. But she seemed to be doing well.
As to him doing this everyday….the others had taken a noticing to this. Now Kurama, Yusuke, Botan and the rest all except for Kuwabara and Yukina knew why he was acting this way. Yukina didn't notice this much because she just appreciated Hiei's kindness and didn't want to be suspicious of him. But Kuwabara…..he thought plainly what Yukina wasn't thinking. And that was that Hiei loved Yukina and had been waiting to be able to spend time alone with her. And one day Kuwabara decided to bring this up.
The whole gang was sitting around in Genkai's temple with not a care in the world. Some teasing and jokes were passed around but it was all friendly. Anyways…Kuwabara finally began teasing Hiei.
"So shorty…I noticed you were hangin' round Yukina a lot." Kuwabara said.
"Hn." Hiei stated in a blank tone.
"Do you love her?" Kuwabara asked waiting for a response.
"Hn whatever gave you that idea fool?" Hiei asked snippily.
"Well ya just seem to be hangin' round her a lot…" Kuwabara said in a teasing tone.
"What's it to you? It's not like she's yours anymore." Hiei snapped.
"So ya do love her." Kuwabara stated, proud that he had figured out the answer.
"Hn." Hiei muttered.
"Shorty has his first girl-friend!!!!!" Kuwabara teased loudly.
"I do not love her like that you fool!" Hiei roared.
"But you love her!" Kuwabara teased once more.
"I AM HER BROTHER NOT HER LOVER!" Hiei roared standing up and glaring at Kuwabara.
He heard audible gasps and Kuwabara's jaw dropped. It took Hiei a moment to register what he said and when he did, he paled slightly and turned to face Yukina whose mouth was open in a perfect O.
Hiei stayed silent, closing his eyes and waiting for rejection to come. In 1.5 seconds Yukina had her arms around him hugging him tightly.
Hiei blinked rapidly.
She started crying. "My brother….I'm so glad I found you…." she said softly and hugged him tighter. Hiei smiled and hugged her back, "Thank you sister. For accepting me."
Yukina smiled and both her and Hiei turned to Kuwabara and said in unison. "Thank you Kuwabara."
