Not So Bad

A/N: Okay, so… I really wanted Jet/Zuko fluff that didn't automatically turn into smut (…don't hurt me…), and so I challenged myself and wrote one. Be warned, this was written at 1 AM, is un-betaed and utterly weird. Did my best to keep thing IC though… if you guys feel something is off, feel free to tell me.
A/N2: Listen to Stellar by Incubus; it helps while reading. I think that is THE song for Jet and Zuko. Haha.
A/N3: Gah, I've got too many of these. Okay well, this is your Holiday present from me this season. So I hope you like it. There are just not enough JetZu drabbles out there.
He was standing on the dock again. Waiting and thinking. That's all he did it seemed, but of course Jet was not one to judge. Jet casually slid next to him and looked out over the water. The bay seemed unusually calm, especially for such a victorious night. They had liberated the food, and defeated a tyrant. Jet was ecstatic; Zuko was indifferent.
"I'm guessing you're not too thrilled about Ba Sing Se." Zuko remained silent. "I mean, it's a new beginning, probably even a fresh start." Jet glanced sideways and continued. "You lost your home because of the Fire Nation." It wasn't a question.
"You could say that." Zuko said quietly.
"I know it doesn't seem like it, but perhaps Ba Sing Se could help you-"
"I don't need help," Zuko interjected.
"Not saying you do," Jet shrugged. "Maybe you'll find a friend."
Zuko looked over at him questioningly. Zuko felt oddly comfortable with him; it was an indescribable warmth that he couldn't explain. The only thing Zuko did know was that he didn't want the feeling to go away. Jet turned to look at Zuko and smiled.
"You have nice eyes," Jet mumbled. Jet froze as he realized what he had just said. Zuko had not processed the comment, for he merely grunted in thanks. Jet sighed and turned to leave. "I'll leave you to your… thoughts then." Zuko turned around.
"Hey, Jet?"
"Yeah?"
"What was it like being a freedom fighter?"
Jet smirked; he really had wanted to stay, after all.
