He stood, watching the waves crashing onto the beach. "Hello, Jack," came a soft voice from behind him. He turned around to face whoever the voice belonged to and I could've sworn I saw tears in Mr. Sparrow's kohl-lined eyes. He took her in his arms and swung her around. A scream excaped her smiling lips and she began to laugh. He brought her thin body to his and hugged her, tangling his fingers in her long, golden hair.

"Elizabeth," he whispered, kissing her forehead. He pushed her away from him and looked her over.

"Lizzie," he said, pulling her close again, "You haven't changed a bit, love."

"I wish I could say the same for you," she laughed. His hair had turned silver with age, and for a while, the fire in his eyes had dissapeared, but somehow, seeing her again brought it back. He smiled weakly. She burried her face into his chest, taking in his scent. "I waited for you, Jack," she whispered. His eyes became full of sorrow again. It killed me to see him hurting- hurting for her. "Jack," she began to cry, the sound was muffled because she was talking into his chest, but I could tell she was crying, non the less, "you never came. You promised me you'd never forget me and you would fix me when I broke, but you didn't, Jack, and you forgot."

"Oh, Lizzie," Jack reached out to touch her face, "I'm sorry." Elizabeth shook her head. Too many times had she heard those words, too many times had she been hurt by Jack saying those words, and too many times had she thought Jack was going to change when ever he said 'I'm sorry.' And she always forgave him.

"For what Jack?" she sobbed. "Just because you tell me that your sorry doesn't mean I'm going to jump eagerly onto the Pearl and fall in love with you all over again. Jack, I don't want to hear 'I'm sorry'." Jack lookend down.

"I lost the Pearl, Liz," his voice barely a whisper. He muttered something about giving it up for her, but I couldn't make it out. "I meant what I said, but I don't expect you to forgive me." He placed a hand on her face, his thumb lightly carressing her tear-stained face.

I don't know what it was about her, but Elizabeth Turner had broken Jack. He wasn't the same man that he was when captaining the Black Pearl. He had never been afraid of anything in his life, but after he met her, he was scared to death that her was going to lose her. He didn't understand why he gave up such a valuable prize to that whelp, Will, but he did. After he left Lizzie and Will in Port Royal, he came strait to my bog and told me he loved me. 'Tia, I've been lying to my self for so long, love,' he had said, but he had really been lying to me. I suppose I was just the girl who he thought could make him forget for a while, but when ever he kissed me or held me, I knew he was wishing it was her.

"What?!" I could tell she was taken by supprise. "Jack, why would you give up the Pearl? You loved her."

"She was just a ship, Lizzie. I didn't need 'er anymore."

"No, Jack. She wasn't just a ship. She was freedom."
