Title: "Don't Look"
Summary: For my sins have corrupted all of my person, Have turned me from human, To a monster.
Disclaimer: I do not own KHR! nor any of its amazing characters. I do, however, own this poem.
Don't look at me,
With those all knowing, brown eyes.
Don't try to find the answers,
Or see the truth.
Don't look within me,
At my soul,
At my very existence,
For my sins have corrupted all of my person,
Have turned me from human,
To a monster.
Don't look…
Just don't look at me…
Don't try to decipher the code,
Don't show me the pity in those orbs of brown and orange.
Don't let me see the fear,
The horror of what I am…
If you don't look,
If you don't glance over,
I won't see the terror,
My heart won't clench at the thought of making you scared.
Please,
Just don't look…
Not after I have committed yet another sin,
The one of taking the life of another person,
Of boosting up my pride of being the greatest.
I don't want you to see me as me,
As the Hitman, the greatest one,
As the Killer, the least merciful,
As the Murderer, the one with no heart,
As the Monster, the one that is all of them.
Don't see,
Turn away,
Please, just do as I say.
I can't take the looks,
The pitiful glances,
The pained winces,
The hateful glares,
The fearful stares.
Don't look at me,
Just don't.
Don't try to decipher the code,
Don't try to find your way through the complex maze,
Or the walls I've put up,
Don't try to remove my mask,
For the person beneath,
Is no longer a person…?
Your brown eyes,
Mixed with orange,
Turn to me with that ever-bright smile,
And I give a smirk in return.
I pull down my fedora,
Shadowing my face,
Telling everyone silently,
Not to look.
But you continue to stare,
With those orbs of brown and orange,
You decipher the code,
You find your way through the maze,
And make your way through the walls,
You remove the mask,
To find the person underneath,
And you say that they are still a person.
You give me the looks,
Not full of pity,
Not pained,
Or hateful,
And, somehow, not fearful.
Just a look of acceptance,
Of companionship,
Of Hope,
And, surprisingly, security.
You looked,
And you saw me,
For who I am,
Not a monster,
But a person.
