My last very, very small fic

The steady sound of gushing water filled Ziva's ears as their captor called out to them.

"I hope you enjoy your time here" he snivelled, before cackling in evil laughter and shutting the door behind him.

Great. I am now stuck with DiNozzo on board a sinking ship. They had been on the S.S Viera with a search warrant, as during a murder investigation, they had caught wind that the Navy vessel was a source of drug trafficking between the US and Venezuela. Unbeknownst to Gibbs, the director had sent the 2 to confirm if the ship was indeed, used to smuggle drugs. All that had supposed to happen was for the 2 agents to slip in, search the ship, and slip back out again, and just as they were leaving the compartment where the cocaine and heroin were stored, a rogue marine had caught them and sounded the alarm. Now they were both tied to a pipe in the engine room and as the ship had hit a reef moments before hand, water was slowly but surely filling up the room.

"This is all your fault" stated Ziva crossly, watching the water rise to their ankles.

"If your stomach had been quieter, we would never have gotten caught in the first place" she continued and Tony hung his head in exasperation and defeat. She was going to start ranting and he would take it better if he didn't interrupt her and she got everything that she wanted to say off her chest. He knew perfectly well that she wasn't really angry at him, but at Vance. Still, he felt guilty that he had not told Gibbs of the assignment that their tooth-pick chewing director had given them.

"And nobody is going to look for us, because nobody knows we are here" she finished, craning her head to face him as best she could in their limited space.

"Well, look on the bright side, Zi. We have the best missing agent detector in the whole world. We'll be found in no time", said Tony, sending his partner a smile he knew she couldn't see.

"And what is that?" Ziva asked, her curiosity peaking. If this "missing agent detector" even existed, she wanted to know why it had never been used in previous situations. Or it could be one of those things they had while Kate was still around, she thought darkly.

"Not a what, Ziva…a who" said Tony mysteriously, and Ziva wondered at the underlying meaning beneath such simple words.

Meanwhile, back at NCIS…

"GIBBS!"

Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs almost choked on his scalding coffee as the ever hyperactive forensic scientist, also known as Abby Sciuto, came barrelling in to the bull pen. Perhaps it had been a bad idea to give her that Caf-Pow! before 8 o'clock this morning.

"I have this really, really weird feeling that Tony and Ziva are in trouble!" she shrieked, her ponytail flying as she panicked.

Gibbs, now recovered from the heart attack Abby just gave him, stood up trying to calm her down.

"Don't worry Abs, we'll find them. Just tell me where they are and I'll go with McGee to get them back safe" he told her soothingly, as she paced around the bullpen.

"Ok, ok…" Abby stopped her pacing and turned to the father figure in her life.

"They're on the naval vessel Viera…in the engine room…30 or so miles away from port"

Gibbs nodded, not bothering to ask how she had such precise directions. He had seemed to rub off on his team, and their gut feelings were becoming as accurate as his.

"All right then. Just stay here, Abby. Tell Ducky I may be late for that drink tonight." Gibbs grabbed his gun and ID and he walked out of the bullpen, pulling out his phone and calling McGee.

"Hurry, Gibbs. It's kinda hinky, 'cause my feet feel soaking wet!" she called after him.

Epilogue: Gibbs and McGee found Tony and Ziva and rescued them before anyone drowned.

Ziva never found out who the missing agent detector was.

Abby did not get in trouble for making Gibbs spill his coffee.
