Roxas stood in the sunset of Destiny Island, his face in place of Sora's so he might pay respect to the Nobody who'd chosen him in place of a heart.
Your sorrows I shall not know,
Nor your joys from before.
All I can keep in my memories is what I knew.
The one without a heart yet felt like he had one.
Holding one yellow rose in his hand, he knelt at the water's edge, holding the flower his former team mate said reminded him of the blonde.
I hold you not in grief,
Nor in reverence ill-deserved.
But in gratitude of a nobody
Who reached out to touch a heart not there.
Setting the rose in the water, he let a breath pass his lips to sweep into the gentle breeze awaiting it. His blue eyes remained unopened as a freed tear fell.
In your next life with a new face
I can only hope we'll meet again.
No longer the pawns without hearts.
No longer Nobodies without freedom.
Picking himself up off the sand, Roxas smiled at the flower on the water. In the burning sunset Axel loved, the rose seemed alight with flame.
It is with this hope I say no good-byes.
As you considered me the key to your missing heart,
So did I consider you something,
The bonds of flame which brought life back to me.
Roxas now set off, leaving the note about the flower to fade in due time into the sea.
So long for now
My best friend, Axel.
