-INTRO-
Jake was beginning to think that the world hated him.
Every time he was in the water? Any sea creature in a mile radius decided he needed a big hug.
Every time he was in the air? The plane decided, "Hey lets do a couple loop-de-loops, just for fun!"
Every time he trekked on land? The land made a conscious effort to fill his path with plenty of rocks to trip on
and holes to fall in. Not exactly the life a fourteen year old boy would be enjoying. But at least somethings liked
him. That whole feeling, time flies when you're having fun? He hadn't found that to be true. And time going
endlessly slow when he was bored? He had found that it went just a bit faster. Despite that, he still had some
things to worry about. For instance, he used to have blue eyes, but since the… the incident, his had been brown,
but a goldish brown, that of lightly brewed coffee that hits the morning sun just right. Speaking of the incident…
I might as well tell you about it now. Just so that we can get it over with.
I was on my way to school, thinking about which one of the fields was going to cause me the most grief, when I
noticed something from my seat on the back of the bus. Mainly, that it had just passed our school. "Hey," I
quickly walked up to the bus driver. "That's my stop back there."
The bus driver smiled, and I noticed his pointed teeth, and fingernail-like claws for the first time.
"No. That isn't your stop. But in fact, I think that we are about to reach your destination." He raised his claws.
"Your rest stop!" He pounced, and time slowed down for me. I did the only natural thing I could, I jumped out
the window, Glass shattered in slow motion, and tore through my clothes like they were paper. When I landed on
the ground, I felt like I had just lost a battle with a pro-wrestler. But I managed to crawl into a small alleyway.
My last memory before I blacked out was two men walking straight at me. Well, one was walking, the other was
in a wheelchair, rolling his way down the sidewalk. Looking everywhere. His eyes finally laid rest on me. "Here!"
The wheelchair one yelled, and I caught one glimpse of something under the blanket resting on his wheelchair.
"Is that.. horse?" I asked stupidly. He smiled. And that my friends, was when I blacked out.
I opened my eyes what felt like hours later, only to find myself standing next to the most beautiful woman I had
ever seen, She had, well… she had everything. And I spent time just looking at her, jaw dropped to the floor. "Oh
dear," She blushed. ""You are a cutie, now aren't you? And the story! Why you are the next Perc-" Suddenly
another person entered the rift. He was tall in muscular, with a fire in his eyes that made him seem like a war
veteran. "He stood next to the woman." Aphrodite, dear, you do know who this is, right? His father-" "Yes, yes!"
She squealed, "Sometimes love comes from the oddest places, and there's really nothing we can do about it." I
was about to ask them something really clever like "Ugh?" when I was pulled into reality, and you couldn't guess what was there.
