I stepped into the room and a blinding light was shined in my eyes. I winced in pain but I didn't once close my eyes,
"So, you're Horokeu Usui?" Asked a voice. I opened my mouth and my throat was dry…I was really nervous about this…I couldn't see anyone's face, I could only see their silhouettes.
"Y-yes sir." I said, the guy gave a chuckle,
"Don't be so nervous –"
"You're being too nice Yoh" Hissed a voice.
"Calm down Ren, you're way too uptight about this stuff…anyways, you scare off everyone who's got skills, so shut up," Somehow the mean guy's hair grew about an inch but he said nothing more.
"Show us what you got" the guy named "Yoh" said,
I started playing the drum set that was there, the light was still on so I couldn't see their expression, I wondered if they did that on purpose to taunt us but I just kept drumming. When I stopped one of them was clapping,
"Nicely done," it was Yoh…his voice was a lot higher then the other guy's.
"So, why do you want to be in this band?" The meanie asked, and turned down the light, I got a good look at their faces. The mean one had a spike on top of his head and his hair was purple – not that I should talk, my hair is blue. And he had beautiful golden eyes and a permanent scowl stuck on his face. The other guy "Yoh" looked laid back and had nice chocolatey brown eyes and a grin with Brown messy hair and headphones that weren't over his ears, only holding his hair back.
"Uhhh…I love music, I've been playing the drums for five years now, and guitar for about 8…and I just want to do something fun ya know? And keep my mind off this girl that dumped me" Horo said,
"Can you write your own music or do you just play others?" Yoh asked,
"I write music sometimes…its not any good, but still…"
"Play something on my guitar," The mean one said, his eyes were shining, and he looked normal for once in all the time I've seen him.
I strummed a few chords and took a deep breath
"She blows in the wind,
She's just like a flower
Slipping away from me" I kept my voice low,
"She ran away,
Without a trace
Leavin' me behind"
"Where did you go?
Where can I find you?
I've been waiting here for so long
Why can't I breathe?
Why can't I see?
Why am I here alone?"
"Alright stop," Meanie said. He started saying things to Yoh in a harsh whisper; Yoh listened then said some things and when they stopped talking meanie looked meaner then hell.
"Your in," Yoh said, I felt relief, fear, happiness and so many other emotions.
"Seriously?" I asked, Yoh nodded, I didn't know what to do, or what to say, should I jump around and parade around the place, or should I be cool and calm? I had no fucking idea!
"Yes, just make sure you're back here at 11:00 am so we can practice – late and I'll slit you're throat," Meanie said, I nodded,
"Uhh I didn't catch you're name," I said to meanie, picking up my water bottle
"Its Tao Ren," He said, his voice filled with pride. I almost choked on my water. The Tao's were powerful people – scary too. When I stopped coughing after a minute I said
"I'm okay…anyways I'll see you guys tomorrow?" I asked, Yoh gave me a big smile and said,
"Yup, see ya tomorrow." While I was leaving I heard him say to Ren, "See? He's a good guy and you didn't manage to scare him away." I laughed quietly, Ren scared me shitless, but that didn't matter…once I was out of there I jumped down the stairs and yelled,
"YES! I'm in!" And I jumped on my skateboard and rode home.
