Watanuki sigh, his back pressed against the cold and damp wall of the abandoned building. He could only assume this is hitsuzen again, playing pranks on him as usual. He and Doumeki, by Yuuko's instructions, went to this dimension to retrieve a certain object. The witch just didn't mention of the pack of wolf spirits guarding that certain object. Then again, she's like that. Good thing Doumeki has the foresight to bring his bow with him or else they would have been reduced to shreds by now. Not that they are in any good condition. Watanuki's shirt was shred to pieces, only some parts clung to his blood-and-sweat soaked skin. His dark pants reduced to mere shorts. Doumeki, on the other hand, is now completely shirtless showing a lightly muscled chest and abs. (And Watanuki is not staring, really) His pants has some of its parts torn. But the seer is still thankful; at least they are alive.

"What should we do now?" Doumeki's question broke the silence.

"Yuuko said that she will fetch us after we got the object. So I guess all we can do is wait. Hopefully, the wolf spirits won't follow us here." By this, Watanuki looked around, noting the appearance of the place they were in. It's in bad condition, really rundown. Good thing they won't be staying here for long.

"How's your back?" The archer asked.

The boy's question brought the memory of the long slashes on Watanuki's back. It wasn't too deep, but not entirely shallow. It stopped bleeding a few moments ago. But it hurts, damn hurts if he will be entirely honest.

"It's fine. I've had worst." Watanuki closed his eyes. No need to tell the truth. Yuuko will be coming soon and she will patch them up real quick for sure.

Doumeki, who was seating a good distance away, stood up and went to where Watanuki is resting.

"Let me see your back." The voice was tense, agitated.

"There's no need." Watanuki opened his eyes a little, staring evenly at the other's golden orbs.

"I want to see it." Doumeki leaned forward, hands grasping Watanuki's shoulder so that he could turn him around.

"Stop that!" Watanuki tried to loosen Doumeki's hold but he was too weak for any physical exertion right now. Blood loss could do that to a person.

Doumeki leveled a stare on the seers back, noting how long it was, how stained with blood. Although it stopped bleeding, angry welts started to form around the wound. It looks nasty, and painful.

"I'm sorry."

"What are you saying sorry for you idiot!" Watanuki faced the archer, but Doumeki's eyes were downcast.

"I should have protected you."

"You are not obliged to protect me baka! Stop this nonsense at once. Since when did you become emotional? It's not…" Watanuki's rants were cut off when a pair of lips covered his. A pair of limbs cradled his body closer. The kiss started soft, gentle, but it became despairing, helpless even. By the time they regain their senses, they were both breathless. Watanuki leaned on Doumeki's chest, listening to the sound of the archer's heartbeat. He feels so contented, so peaceful. He knew he felt something for the other boy. He can feel his blood thrumming when the other got close, his heart pulsed in erratic motions, his breath quickens, and the only thing he can do to fight off the feeling is to shout and flail and act irritated. It was all a defense.

"I love you." Doumeki whispered on Watanuki's ear, his voice light and soft.

"What a nice place to confess you idiot! Really romantic." Watanuki rolled his eyes but the blush that graced his cheeks spoke otherwise.

*sigh* that's it i guess. R&R!
