This was originally done for the kakairu valentines competition, but it changed until it became a small series of drabbles (incredibly small drabbles... ), but I didn't want to scrap them completely so I've bundled them together. I was playing with a different style of writing so we'll see how it all turns out :)
Title: Spectrum
Author: ShinkuKai
Prompts: Red, Need, Alone, Affection, Date, Silver and Gold
Rating: PG
Pairing: Kakashi/Iruka
Red
Red was such an interesting colour; it spoke of warmth, fire, passion and lust, but it also spoke of hate, pain and danger.
Iruka stared into the single red eye and felt his world crumble.

Need
Orange was a colour that screamed for attention, reflecting the need to be seen, to be acknowledged.
As a pale blue eye glazed past him, Iruka wondered if he should start wearing orange.

Alone
Blue was most noted for sorrow, loneliness and cold. But It also represented wisdom, tranquility and clarity.
As they stood side by side in front of the memorial, Iruka felt as though he wasn't as alone as he once thought he was.

Affection
Red
was often associated with all matters of the heart, but it was the
colour pink that claimed the feelings of love, joy, kindness and
affection.
Iruka pondered the meaning of the pink heart in the margin of a barely readable mission report.

Date
Deep
gray was the colour often associated with the feeling of fear and
confusion. It drowned out all other colours until the world was
narrowed down to one instance, one moment.
Fear tugged at Iruka's insides as he stumbled through an invite to dinner.

Silver and Gold
Silver
and gold were not as compatible as one often thought. Gold was brash,
harsh, and overpowering in it's need to shine, while silver was wispy
and cold, a ghostly colour that either faded away completely or washed
away any remain colour. Complete opposites that refused to be anything
less than perfect, both harsh and cruel in their need to be surpass all
others.
But seeing Kakashi's pale hand grasp his own tanned one, Iruka discovered a new liking for the combination.
