The tops of the grass floated above his head as I watched him fall deep into the field. He watched the clouds glide through the gentle breeze before closing his eyes to rest. I walked slowly towards him, being careful he did not notice me peeking over the wall of tall stalks around him. I watched his peaceful eyes as he followed each cloud that flew by until he began to rest. My heart leapt up in my throat then. He was the most beautiful person to ever walk this Earth, his face so calm and flawless in this setting. I watched him like that for countless moments before I walked over to the water edge so I would not be caught. I looked down at the reflection and felt the same heart leap. I turned fast expecting him to be standing there, but he wasn't. It was then that it dawned on me, as it often does, that the reflection was me.
