Lifening
A hand upon my forehead
The joke and the laugh
Waking up in your arms
A place to call my own
This is all I ever wanted from life

Her dark tresses fanned out across the bedsheets. The contrast between the ebony and ivory never failed to take his breath away. He smiled as he reached a cold hand out to caress the smooth porcelain of his dark angel. Her brilliant ruby lips twitched slightly, before breaking into a loud yawn. Her long, soft lashes squeezed together for a short instant, before hazily opening to the sunbeams that streamed down across the canopy bed.
"Good morning, My Lady." He whispered to Morgana. The doe-eyed look on his face was unbelievably sappy.
"Mmmm." Morgana raised her slender arms above her head, stretching out her knotted back.
"It is, isn't it." She finally opened her eyes all the way, and swiveled so that her green and his blue connected.
Merlin chuckled softly. "You would say that. Miss 'I'll Just Take All The Covers." He gestured to the discrepancy between her abundance of soft, downy blankets, and his small corner of thin sheets.
Morgana scoffed, and raised an eyebrow. "Well if you're going to complain, you don't have to spend the night. I'm sure Gaius would be thrilled to give you your old room back."
Merlin couldn't help but laugh at that. He hadn't slept in the physician's quarters for many fortnights, and Gaius wouldn't go down without a fight now that he become accustomed to the slightly more comfortable cot in the chamber's back room.
"Well, My Lady, I guess I'll have to stay. For Gaius' sake."
"Ah, yes. Anything for Gaius." Morgana giggled.
Merlin reached over to rub a crumb of sleep from her left eye. "Looks like the Sand Man got me," Morgana laughed.
Merlin nodded, suddenly distant. Morgana's eyebrows furrowed slightly, and propped herself up onto an arm.
"Merlin?" She asked, concerned.
He blinked. "Sorry. Erm. I was thinking."
"Oh really? Arthur would be astounded!"
Merlin rolled his eyes. "I mean... I was just dreaming. I wish that this would last forever. That we could just lay here, in this lovely bed, and never have to get out. No Arthur, no Uther, no worries." Merlin smiled wistfully as he silently added, No magic.
Morgana sighed, and sunk back into her pillow. She didn't have to answer- he knew what she was thinking. He always did. Merlin grinned suddenly. "Of course, we can still pretend that's true for another few hours. Arthur's off hunting, and won't be back until late this afternoon."
Morgana smirked wickedly. "You are quite right. The only problem we need to worry about, is how to pass this incredibly long amount of time..."
"Oh, I'm sure we'll think of something," Merlin whispered as he bent over to taste the sweet cinnamon of her lips.
As clothes were shed, names whispered and moaned, and sheets shared, Merlin decided he would amend his previous thought. There is some magic I'd let into this bedroom.
